You can get one through cycling/TT'ing or just spending a LOT of time waiting. A lot of real life time that is. I'm not a fan of single anime towns only because I like getting random villagers and not having full control of what happens. My sister had an all cats town for a while but got bored and let it naturally change.

hacking isnt the only way you can do it :/ its possible without hacking but it takes a lot of patience and time, i actually have a town with just cats and it took me over four months to get tbh. i just used the villager trading plaza to do it

I adore single species towns and have created quite a number of them. Currently I have a horse town, a squirrel town, and a penguin town, and I've also been putting the finishing touches on an all dog town. As of right now, I only have a DA for the squirrel town, Nutkin, (thanks to TheGreatBrain for the town name suggestion!) which is here: 4100-5706-2377. If you have the patience and the motivation, I highly recommend going all one species.

I would imagine a town of just wolves would get boring, considering how many of them are cranky.

I think they misunderstood OP by thinking they meant only having a SINGLE villager. Not that you can only achieve a single species by hacking.

I think it could be cool, you don't need to hack just need some patience. I recently came into a third copy of New Leaf (given to me by a friend) that's just sitting unused in my draw, but once I've finished my town or hit a slump I'll probably start a bear/bear cub only village. Although I suppose that's sort of cheating since it's technically two different species.

It was strange. All of my villagers were Kidd and sometimes when you spoke to a Kidd a different one would answer lol.
Since it's against the game's design to have more than 1 of the same villager, it was really buggy. All of the Kidds use the same emotions at the same times as well.
Definitely interesting to try out, though!
