Town Tree problem

So my game's clock is set to April 23rd 2014 and it's around 8pm (at the time of writing this). Today I was playing and noticed my tree is much much smaller than it was before. I had the 50 days and 50 hours+ tree and now it's much smaller than that with much less leaves. It looks like the tree you have during october-december ish.

I must mention that I adjusted the in game clock (not the one on the 3ds) yesterday from pm to am and then back to pm. It was around 11:30pm. After I changed it back to pm i just saved and quit and turned off my system and only today did I notice my tree was smaller than before.

Why did this happen and is there a way to fix it?

The tree is glitched and shrinks sometimes. I think in most cases it fixs itself in a few days

I have heard of this happening to at least two other people where it was a much more dramatic change.
It mostly happened without them noticing during the winter months it was bear and when it grew back it was smaller than before fall/winter.
I never heard any updates from them through posts on if it just fixed itself or not.

O: my tree was pretty big then I TT back to the real date and it was small again!! I decided to time travel back a WHOLE YESR back to 2013 to try and regrow it if I knew it would fix itself I wouldn't have done it :c
