I don't know if this thread has been made or not but I've noticed a few people asking for name ideas as well as a board for town theme ideas so I thought I'd make one for this. I personally collect words that I love so that's what I'll be posting here but if you have any cool ideas then feel free to post them here too!

1. Paracosm(n): a detailed, prolonged imaginary world created by a child that includes human, animal, or alien creations.
2.Selcouth(adj):Unfamiliar, rare, strange, and yet marvelous
3.Habilin(n): Anything given to somebody for safekeeping
4.Petrichor(n):The scent of rain on dry earth
5.Sough(n): The gentle, soothing murmur of wind or water
6.Kairos(n): The perfect, delicate, crucial moment: the fleeting rightness of time and place that creates the opportune atmosphere for action, words, or movement: also, weather.
7.Brumous(adj): Of grey skies and winter days: filled with heavy clouds or fog: relating to winter or cold, sunless weather.
8.Sirimiri(n): A light rain, a fine drizzle
9.Aubade(n): A love song sung at dawn
9.Orphic(adj): Mysterious and entrancing: beyond ordinary understanding.

26.Ukiyo(n): Literally "the floating world"- living in the moment, detached from the bothers of life.
27.Syzygy(n): an alignment of celestial bodies
28.Mangata(n): The glimmering, roadlike reflection the moon creates on water
29.Komorebi(n): sunlight filtering though trees
 
these are really pretty words!!! some are too long to fit but i personally don't care, taking out a letter just makes the name more unique!
i'm not starting any new towns anytime soon, but i'm still glad you posted this! i hope this helps a lot of people!
 
Great idea for a thread! A lot of these are very pretty. :D
 
I usually check Wikipedia for lists of towns/villages/castles in "____" country for ideas.

My current towns are Meelick (an Irish village), Nonsuch (a castle built by Henry VIII), and Podunk.
