Town is ruined.

It made pretty good sense. They said to make a new character and don't even save said new character. Just check to see if the villager is where they should be. If they aren't turn off the 3DS and try again (without saving)

It sucks that it happened, same thing happened to me today. Even though I made sure to give them several areas where they could potentially set up. Instead they plop into an azalea garden pwp section. And now it looks like utter trash.

This is my last chance. I TT'd and got Freya out. I want to adopt Ankha, from you Brina, but HOW do I get her to move to a spot? Please help me. :(

What? I can't do all that!
You're meant to put patterns everyhere and leave a 3x3.

I left 3 of those and that CLOWN moved in front of my bridge and took out everything.

SOMEONE HELP. :(

A 5x5 plot for a new character. O_o What about the plot for the villager?
You made NO sense. You also forgot it can't be 6AM. I've read that, but you neven even mentioned it.

I am so confused. :(

I will explain, calm down. x)
Let's say you adopt Ankha today. That's before 6 am tomorrow, right? You should leave more than just one 3x3 space plus door space, it's safer to choose 2 or 3 option, if possible. The 5x5 space for the new character will have patterns on it, so the villagers won't go there. Choose somewhere where you won't destroy anything and keep this 5x5 always patterned!

The villager spot. Do I need to leave a space for the door?
Pietro and Freya and Butch busted through EVERYTHING.

Am trying to contact Brina to adopt Ankha then try to plot reset.
If I fail, THEN I will delete it. :*(

The 6am thing means that if a new day begins and you have an existent character load, the plots will stay where they are and never move. If you start a new day with a new character, as long as you don't create a house for them, you can always quit and create a new one and the plots won't be permanent until you create a house and save or load an existing character. :)

Yes, you should leave an extra space for the door. You know that little tile where you can't plop patterns?
It's better to leave 4x4 spaces if you're not picky as to which exact tile they'll be in, just to be safe. Leave 2 or 3 4x4 options too. And don't forget to begin the next day as a new character! If you don't like the place, close and don't save! If you, talk to isabelle and nook, create the tent, save ans quit and you'll be set! :D

But I patterned the whole town to stop make villagers move to 3x3's. :(

If I pattern a 5x5 you won't see it because there's patterns all over.

But I don't want another character! They won't shut up if I keep it.
Makes no sense. :(

Choose a different colored pattern? Or just plop the house anywhere then, I choose a 5x5 space as my official plot resetter house space so I don't forget and put a PWPW on it later or something. But anywhere is okay, I guess. :)

You'll delete them as soon as the plot is in the right place and you've saved ans quit. Don't talk to anyone and after you delete them the animals won't speak to your mayor about them, I can assure. :)

That's the one I read that made no sense.
I can't change the DS clock constantly like that guide says. Too much confusion.

I don't understand!

Brina is letting me adopt Ankha. It's the only snooty left. :(

I wanted Freya but now she's part of that cycle crap. Can't readopt.

Do I have to change time?

Wait. Let me adopt Ankha then walk me through this? Please? ^_^

This guide if from before the update, so it's outdated, but it explains the new character creation well. :)
Let me try to explain again:
Everyday at 6 am, a new day loads. That means that fossil places, weeds, etc, all are generated at 6 am and when you load a character after this moment, the changes will become permanent. If you choose a new save file, though, the changes are not permanent as long as you don't save. The new character is the only way of getting a new random event occurrence, which includes plot placing, without it becoming unavoidable. As long as you don't save (and to save you need a tent), you can throw the dice many times and once it'll hit the spot, the correct plot placing. Then you should make the changes permanent. :)

It's my last chance at saving dy town. As I can get Butch and Pietro out. IF plot resetting works I can rebuild what they destroyed. Please stick with me here?
I read it took over 250 resets to plot reset for someone. :(

The same technique can be used to other random occurrences, such as who's camping or what's on sale at Nooklings, for example. :)

Gotcha.

Stay with me? ^_^

Just waiting a few minutes and will adopt Ankha, then you tell me step by step.

That's before the update. If they ignore patterns completely, and the player is very specific, I'll believe they would do it 250 times. If you have patterns, and make sure you leave those 4x4 spaces before you adopt Ankha, and you don't load an existing character after 6 am on the next day after you adopted her, it will work. Any more doubts before you go? :)
Just remember to start with new save file every time! If you load an existing character even once, the plot place will be permanent!

Listen, it's midnight here, I have to go. If you're unsure of what to do, it's better to play safe: leave the spaces, adopt Ankha and close the game and don't open it tomorrow until you come here! As long as you don't play at all nothing will be destructed and even if I'm not here I'm sure other people will help you plot reset. Just don't play at all! Alright? Wishing you luck! :D

Thank you Cookie!
Stay with me. Getting Ankha any minute!
Then do I set the in game clock to tomorrow?

Hey Jon, sorry for intruding. Your new villagers moved onto your paths even though they were tiled? :\ Was there anything special about the areas they moved in? Was the whole area covered (3x3 with 9 tiles) or just the centre of the area (3x3 with 1 tile)?

I'm planning on winging a villager move in tomorrow (have 4 characters already) based on the fact that with the new update they won't move onto paths.. but if it happened to you.. maybe I'll just delete a character I invested in :~{

Right before you plot set, load your main character. When isabell comes on, tell her you need to change your time. Set the time to tomorrow 5:59am or 5:58 am to be safe. Then once your game loads really quickly save the game and quit. Wait the 1/2 minutes without playing just in case . When you know it must be 6:00 am already, load your game and choose new character and go through the whole start process. Once you are in the town, walk around and find where the house was set. If it is set in a place you do not like, turn off the game and go straight to load the new file. Do the whole start process. Walk around. If the house was set on the right spot, keep playing until the game lets you save. Once saved, log out of game, delete new file and carry on on your normal file.

I left blank 3x3 spaces. The rest of the town I covered.

Not meant to load it at all at 6AM with the mayor. Or anyone else. I don't understand. :(
