Town inspiration/tips?

I'm looking for inspiration for my town, it's currently slumping a bit. :[ Do you have any tips on gardening/hybrids (I know a few guides..but tips could help.)/perfect town rating/paths/bushes?

My town's a little different than most. It's nature-based, meaning I only use paths to plot out where things are going to go (trees, villager houses, bushes, PWPs, etc). That'll explain why you see so many grass-looking squares around the place; those are meant to be for trees or bushes. The roads you take to get around are basically just all the empty areas with surrounding trees and bushes. It'll be easier to tell when the snow starts to melt and grass wear comes back into effect.
