Town Evans - Items on Floor

For a couple of days now Isabelle has been whinging that there are too many items lying on the ground in my town.

The only thing is that there isn’t! I don’t have any clutter lying on the floor anywhere. Not items, resources, DIYs.

I’m at 4* but I’m worried this will stop me getting to 5.

Does anyone know what causing this?

Items dropped on stalls, tables and stools also count as "on the ground".

Placed items never count as "on the ground". Same thing applies to natural items like tree branches, mushrooms, pine cones, acorns and, I believe, fruits too. Anything other than that is considered as being "on the ground" if you didn't use the "place item" option.

Well, that's very strange, then. I mentioned that because I saw other users wiyh the same problem, and turned out that they had lots of DIYs, fossils, clothes and materials on stalls and other things where something could be placed on its top.

Have you checked with different camera angles? Lotsa people have fruit tree orchards where the trees are close together and block the view of the ground and when people get wood from those trees, they sometimes just miss pieces when they blindly feel around while picking stuff up. Chopped wood seems to be considered clutter.

This happened to me a while ago, and I went around my whole island picking up all the fruit and sticks since those were the only things on the floor and it worked. I have no idea why, maybe sticks that fall when you shake the tree count differently to the sticks that fall out over night?

Thanks I’ll have a look. I do have an orchard but do uselessly check with the camera to make sure I’ve got everything. Maybe I missed some.

It's probably some branches. It's easy to miss them if they fall behind a tree.

Also turnips count towards this. I got confused when Isabelle told me this... cause I forgot I had like a billion turnips dumped on my beaches.

i read clutter is actually having too many items within a certain area (like if u have over 45 squares occupied in a 8x8 square of land) then it is cluttered. perhaps you have too many furniture in the same area?
