Tossing Out Unorderables

I ALWAYS hesitate selling/getting rid of unorderables since you can't get them from the game as easily. But there are some unorderables I know for a fact I won't use but I can't make myself get rid of them because what if I need it later and regret getting rid of it?

Anyone else share this?

I'm right there with you ._. I have sets that I don't even like but I don't want to need them and not have them. I just tossed them on a second character XD

In real life and in-game, I have no problem getting rid of anything I won't use. I hate clutter. Between your house(s), the museum and your locker, you have very limited storage space. If you're sure you don't like or won't use something, it's best to sell it at Re-Tail. Or maybe you can gift some things to your permanent villagers? I've given Frank several unorderable items because I thought they'd look nice in his house.

If I know it will come back around somehow or I can get another one with a different character, I sell it. I'm trying to keep the clutter out of my houses as much as possible, it's very hard though...

I try to keep at least one of every unorderable just in case I need it, but in reality I will probably never use most of it. It's just a comfort thing knowing that if I want to wear something or use it in my house, then it's always there as opposed to me having to try to buy it from someone else.

I also have a problem of not wanting to sell extra unorderables at Re-Tail since I always fell like someone might want it and I don't want to disappoint that someone by jumping the gun and getting rid of stuff.

i have always had this problem, even in WW. i tend to store a lot of junk and sets that i don't like but they're unorderables so i don't want to get rid of them. i don't want a second character because the house wouldn't fit anywhere due to my layout i currently have. it's rather stressful, especially during turnip-day or trades.

the sight of things on the ground of my town makes me so irritated, but my storage is practically always filled and i'm just worried that i will need a certain item at one point if i trashed/sold it.

as a result of my obsessive collecting habit, i often make "50th commenter gets ___" thread, because seeing someone happy to get my random things somewhat relieves the pressure i have when i think about cleaning my storage up, and it being full of unorderables that i know i won't need, but rather want, just to have the ability to say i have it.

I understand the point of having unorderable items. The game would be kind of boring if every item could be ordered from the catalog and people could just trade them. Hopefully in the next game, some of the unorderable items will become orderable. I think items from holidays and special events should remain unorderable because it provides an incentive to participate in those events, but things like gyroids, Saharah floors and wallpapers, and Gracie items should be orderable because they are really not that special in terms of how you acquire them and it takes up a ton of space to store them all.

I only do if they'd be nearly impossible to buy again off of someone else. So it really depends on just HOW rare. If it's something like the Pave set or a holiday/event set, I don't care so much. But stuff like the 7-11 set (or any overseas DLCS) I'm less likely to get rid of. Then again, so many people also dupe now that even those sorts of things aren't mega rare.

I have literally every unorderable in the game including doubles+ of many, and then a bunch of other "unorderables" on top of that which people probably wouldn't think of first thing.

Do you have the unorderable stationery? I've been looking for those since they are the only items I don't have in my catalog as far as I know and it's driving me nuts because I'm OCD. I just want to catalog them because I'll never use them, but it would give me a great deal of satisfaction to finally complete my catalog.

Yeah, and I don't mind letting you catalog. Is now fine?

I suck it up...and sell them! It's not easy though. I wish we had a million storage slots! Some of the sets are really cute, but there's just no place for it in my themed town. Maybe someday I will do an unthemed town and then I can pack rat all I want.

this is why i have multiple towns. one of my towns is purely a storage town for every unorderable (and a ****load of saplings) not going to waste any storage and i'm not creating more characters than i need.

i fee l you. i always think that what if it comes a time i need the items that useless to me now? because of that, my whole town is like a landfill

It depends.. I mean if it's just ugly clothes for cataloging/Gracie checks/wedding cake then I just sell them..I feel ya with other furniture though

Yes! I have drawers of stuff I will probably never use, but can bring myself to part with because it will be hard to find later. It gets a bit frustrating at times because I'm always short on storage space as result.

I just get rid of unorderable stuff I don't want and a lot of the stuff can be obtained using other profiles anyway.
