Tortimers island

I cannot believe that kappn might not even be part of this game it just doesnt make sense..... are the dodos new??? .... we need a boat... any data clues ?!?

Haven't read anything about leaks for him, but I agree with you. It seems so weird not to have him as part of the game! Hopefully they figure something out for him soon. I also believe a feature similar to Tortimers Island would be really enjoyable.

People will probably say we don't need it because of the Nook Mile islands, but those are utterly useless.
The season, fruit, flora and fauna are the same as your own island, apart from the coconts and sister fruit.

I loved Tortimer island because it was always summer, and a nice escape for those of us that snow is hideous and unnatural for, because we live in the southern hemisphere.

The mini tours were awesome and so were the items you could buy with the tour medals.

Beetle and shark farming was also easier and gave the player a reason to go there, for a mere 1000 bells.

Kapp'n's family were a nice change as well.

I feel I really need these things back to have some kind of enjoyment.

I’m really hoping that that is what the extra pier is for!!! It would really be a shame if that was only for some fish spawns

Youre right the islands are so similar to ours it makes them useless.. so im geussing itll be snowing there in winter? it doesnt even make sense because were taking a plane there so the island should be different...unlike with kappn we just took a motor boat to a more nearby island....

Personally im not a fan of the nook miles points or the tickets it was much easier to go around with kappn but thats besides the point..

they really could make somthinggg awesome with kappn and a motor boat... ANYTHING .. i miss the sea chantys..

Im just sad because i read the only data of the turtles is for a picture of them or somthing and the picture is from new leaf so it makes the assumption he wont be returning in this game and thats just ridiculous he shouldve been there at the beginning taking us to the islands and the birds could just be for connecting with people

Yeah I dont even remember mini games but not having a turtle and a motor boat for our dock on the island just seems absurd....

The dock is there for a reason I'm sure there will be an update later on down the line relating to it.

i was really hoping he wouldve been implemented in the summer but now im thinking maybe itll be for the southern hemispheres spring or summer or maybe even next spring... but thats faaaaar awayyy

I mean, they must drop an update one day which gives the dock some use, why on earth including that thing when nobody uses it? (I mean, I do understand why Redd doesn't use it, so...) And Kapp'n would be the perfect candidate for this. Not sure however if Tortimer will coming back along with his island, either it comes back with new mini games and general features such as island exclusive fish/bugs/sea creatures or it will remain as a 'New Leaf only' thing and Tortimer may just comes around as a visitor without any functions. Whatever happens, I hope after all for a comeback of all older NPCs at some point, including Tortimer and of course Kapp'n (with his family, which we should not forget).

Youre so sweet awe i just remembered the island store.. just so cute... we need them all... a wife, named Leilani, a daughter named Ledila, and his mother Grams.... and the roost ofcourse....

I'm guessing both Kapp'n and the island will be back soon enough. I don't personally care about being able to catch fish/bugs on the island (to be honest, it always felt a little... cheat-y to be able to catch the most valuable stuff year round) but I miss the mini-games! Still, I've got plenty else to do while I'm waiting for the possibility of it being re-added, so I don't mind much.

Also, my pedantic mind keeps saying "they are not turtles they are KAPPAS" but I'm just weird that way, lol

Kappas are Yokai, not really demons. They're not inherently evil... more mischievous. Personally, I just like the chance to learn about folklore. TBH, I don't really like how it feels like Nintendo sort of "dumbed it down" for non-Japanese audiences. I mean, Tom Nook is a Tanuki. Luna is a Baku. Redd is a Kitsune. Call them that or not, they clearly are once you know what those creatures are. I guess it makes sense since other cultures aren't as familiar with these creatures... but I feel it'd be cool for more people to learn about them, as opposed to wondering why the "turtles" have beaks and weird heads. That confused me as a kid

I totally agree with you that would be awesome to incorporate more folklore especially considering that is what its based on.. i love learning about stuff like that too!! some people still have no idea!!! Thats good theyre not inherently evil...

Personally I'd rather be taken to an area with a little more civilization. Maybe like the nearest port city and they could bring other characters like Gracie and Shrunk back that way. A throwback to City Folk. Imagine seeing Gulliver there just chilling before his next boat trip. I know people would rather have the island mini games return but I can't fathom more generic islands.
