Pretty much the topic title.

I've been patient so far with waiting for seasonal things to rotate in... It gives me something to look forward to in the future. But the frozen set is my favorite furniture set in the game, I absolutely love the customizations... and I'm debating buying it off of another user..

If you've purchased items out of season, have you regretted it at all? Did you feel like you robbed yourself of the experience of collecting in season?

I'm not sure why I'm having such a hang up here. Winter is my absolute favorite season in AC... And I think the set is gorgeous. I've also thought about time traveling to winter so I can have the experience of collecting... Just early. But I also think there's something to be said about playing at the "intended" pace. I don't want to get bored faster because I rushed content... Don't know if that's a realistic concern or not?

Thoughts? Wait or go for it?

I'm in the same space. I love having something to look forward to, especially now there isn't much to look forward to in real life. So I'd say: wait for it. It'll be winter before you know it! There's quite a few events in between so I'd say there's enough to keep you busy in the meantime.

NO REGRETZ.

But seriously, I always purchased my seasonal furniture or DIYs ahead of time and it didn’t take away from the joy of getting them in my spare time. If anything, I was less stressed to hunt for balloons and what-not. I’ve gotten bored with the game, but it’s usually because of terraforming mishaps, furniture decorating, and real-life problems that impede my joy with playing. (It’s been awhile since I’ve picked up my Switch due to college.)

I would personally recommend buying the furniture items ahead of time and just waiting to hunt for DIYs later. Or, you could time-travel and experience the collecting process in a more intimate setting (as in, not everyone will be in winter at the same time, so you can quietly enjoy it for yourself). If you really, really want to experience the winter season in real time, then do that as well! There’s really no wrong answer. However, what’s important is that you don’t feel pressured by anyone else to make a decision. You play the game how you want to. 💛

That is part of my thinking as well... Between maple leaves, mushrooms and whatever the harvest festival brings, November is pretty full of stuff to do... Might be enough of a distraction to wait until winter?

I'd think so? But in the end it's still your decision of course. And it's not like it's a life/death decision, it really doesn't matter. Do whatever you want!

Somebody gave me a couple of frozen items as a bonus during a trade.

I didn't mind getting them that way, though I prefer to get thing's myself, the first time around. :)

Tbh, I don't think there should be any shame or guilt felt on buying items out of season.

I already had the season winter (southern hemisphere) but seeing the update with the addition of Jingle, I think winter for NH will be chaos, lol.

Cause there's now frozen diy, normal snow diy, the ornament diy (idk what it's called) and Jingle stuff.

I absolutely don't think one should feel guilt by getting items/DIYs out of season. The frozen ones in particular are quite a pain to get as you only get one chance per day during winter. Winter is also my favorite season in AC (plus it looks really incredible in NH imo) and I thoroughly enjoyed spending a tonnn of time in winter already.

I'm typically the same way... I'm only tempted in this case because I need giant orange ice sculptures everywhere :P but my goal has been to let the first year play out naturally...

That is a lot of stuff coming up when you list it like that... And there's going to be a lot of overlap in December..

I've been to one dream town set in winter, and it is incredible! The snow looks and sounds amazing. I also love that we can see our breath! I'm unbelievably excited!

It is a shame that you can't grind the DIYs out of balloons all in one day...

I'm one of the most impatient people sometimes but I've never been able to fully get into time travelling on my own games in animal crossing as I really enjoy the fact that it follows the seasonal patterns of the real world and love experiencing it as things happen in my real life!!

I bought a lot of frozen furniture and mush furniture before it came to my island and I do not regret not waiting at all. I did regret getting one of the fall ones early since i got some dupes of the few i obtained early. Aside from that though, no regrets since who knows if I would have come up with or kept some areas I worked on if I waited for months for the furniture. Also, I’ve been cutting down on my playing time since I’ve been stumped at coming up with new ideas as well as finishing the projects I have with what furniture is available.

I would just order some furniture :D I did that for autumn furniture, collecting the diys has been fun and way less frustrating

Is that the regular seasonal set? I prefer to get all the things on my own and I don't mind random balloons if I hae enough time, but I would have absolutely zero remorse buying the sets you have to complete in two weeks. Trying to farm the sakura set under pressure was painful.

Unfortunately, I work fulltime and am usually too tired to spend hours shaking trees so I've purchased all the seasonal items from people on here. I still have yet to regret it.

I feel this so hard! Recently I've purchased a bunch of the mush/late fall DIYs and mats because I just couldn't wait any longer. I think sometimes they don't release the DIYs fast enough for people to use them when they are seasonable. For example, all my maple trees are past peak IRL yet we don't get them in game for weeks. I used to be very concerned about taking things slow and going with the pace of the game but I've been frustrated lately and decided to just go for it and buy what I'm looking for now or to time travel to get what I need.

I don't regret buying them at all. I've really enjoyed decorating my island with all the new DIYs. I think the key is not to buy them all- just go with mats and one or two of the DIYs. That way you'll still have things to look forward to when it gets to be that season but you get a little taste of it now too. Kind of like doing all things- moderation is key!

oof i feel this. while i haven’t bought any seasonal items outright, i have purchased the majority of the diys, which i don’t regret. if i hadn’t bought them, i probably would’ve had to spend hours trying to get them myself and i,, don’t have the patience for that aha.

the choice is entirely yours! if you’re worried about running out of things to look forward to, we’ve got halloween, the harvest festival, toy day and probably other exciting things coming soon, so if you really want the frozen items or want to tt to get them yourself, there’s no shame in that and there’ll still be some stuff to look forward to afterwards :)

I have no regrets!!!

honestly it feels like you may be robbing yourself paying a lot of bells/tickets/whatever for seasonal stuff , you could simply wait or time travel to the season you want the items (after all , time travel doesn't even have any real consequences)

I mean... if you want it that badly go on ahead! It's not like anyone cares.
Personally, I don't see the point when it's still autumn outside. It seems unfitting with the autumn aestethic. After all, there's a reason they're seasonal.
