I just counted my dreamie list (slightly updated from the one in my sig) and I have 5 normal villager types? And only 2 out of my 10 dream villagers are male. Do you think this causes any problems? Would you find it boring?

I have three peppy dreamies (one is only a kind-of-a-dreamie though). I don't mind because they're awesome!!

You won't be able unlock of the PWPs if you don't have the all the personality types. I feel that having two of the same personalities can get repetitive, so five normals would definitely be overkill imo.

My only issue with this is it doesn't help much when you're trying to get specific PWPs. And it kind of makes the game seem kind of boring, having each character with the same personality. I try to keep a minimum of two. For example, I have the following:

Agent S - Peppy
Biff - Jock
Cranston - Lazy
Hans - Smug
Skye - Normal
Papi - Lazy
Punchy - Lazy (He's moving)
Rolf - Cranky
Rosie - Peppy
Zucker - Lazy

I may swap out Agent S and Cranston. I need an uchi somewhere in this list.

It does get a lil boring since they share speech, but I guess if you really like them, that's all that matters after all, I have 3 normals and even when the speech is repeated, I love my 3 girls <3

Edit, but yes, what the person above me says is important, you should get all the PWP you want first!

I do realise that if I achieve my dream village there's no way I can get all the PWPs. But this doesn't really bother me; I don't like most of them anyway...

Take villagers you want. Don't listen to what others say!

Uh... Get what villagers you want? Don't listen to what others say? I don't really think this is a matter of people forcing her to chose her villagers but about the dialogue in the game. And she made the thread to ask for advice.

Honestly, it depends. I re-made my dreamies and based them off personality types. My original ones were like yours, almost all normal, because there are so many good ones. Normal personalities are great, but if I had to I'd only have 1-2 personalities missing from my final town and up to 3-4 of the same. You just have to remember that they're basically all the same villager and you're going to hear the same dialogue of 5 re-colored villagers over and over, and miss out on a lot of the major dialogue in the game.

Though I can understand why you'd want a villager because you just love them so so so much. EX me with Lucky, name of my dog irl. Right now my dreamies aren't as personal, they're really just my favorites that represent each personality. Finally, my least favorite villagers are jock/uchi/cranky, so it's not as important to me to have them.

It can get a little boring, but I think that's better than having villagers you don't want. Initially I tried getting one of each personality type, but I found that I didn't talk to some of the personalities much anyway so they were just wasting space. Now I'm planning on getting three jocks and two lazies, and possibly two uchis if I decide I don't want a snooty. You can always try five normals and switch some of them out if you end up getting bored.

You can always get your least-hated of a particular personality type just until you get the PWPs and then kick them out and get your "final dream town" villagers.

But it's up to you. Personally, I have three "normals" and I don't find it annoying or boring yet. In some ways I feel like they are the easiest to have multiples of, their dialogue doesn't seem to be quite as distinctive or call attention to their similar personality as much?

Well, at the moment I only have 2 female villagers in my new main town.
Too lazy to find out their personalities and species though. .

5 normals would be too much for me. Fauna & Coco are always saying the same thing in my town.

I prefer to have a relatively diverse villager list. I put a hard limit on myself of, "No more than 2 of any species, and no more than 2 of any personality".

Ideally I would have nothing but unique personalities but they didn't make 10 unique personalities, or 9 if you count just never inviting the 10th over.

What I did was look online for a list of all possible New Leaf villagers, listed by personality with pictures of each one, then made my own list of acceptable villagers from each personality and species pool.

---

My wife on the other hand is always complaining about how she has a handful of similar personalities and that she's bored of them.

Yet you tell others what villagers they should get that aren't even in question.

Anyway, the only problem i see it causing is lack of diversity in personality and PWPs, since the dialog is the same for them all it may get boring but the villager makes the dialog so that can't be all that true since different villagers give off a different feeling with the dialog.

No i would not find it boring, before a few old villagers i had moved i had about 5 normals and 2 smugs and 1 cranky. Which made me have a really hard time getting pwps i wanted (so if you want pwps from certain personalitys i'd get a villager then move in your dreamies if they won't have that specific personality personally)

Thats the ONLY problem i can see is PWPs, but it's not something wrong or boring

I made a list of villagers I liked most, then looked up their personalities and trimmed off the repeats. I found I had too many normal and lazy villagers on the list and not a single smug, so I did some rearranging, found a smug I like, and ended up with a final dreamie list that represents every personality type. I had to trim off some villagers I like a lot, but I'm much more interested in the diversity so I'm happier this way!

yeah, that's largely what I did, I made a list of all the ones I liked and then tried to eliminate some based on species and personality…

but I still have 3 normals haha… ^_- I should probably eventually get rid of one of them and get another of one of the others, but I'm not sure which that would be.

Yeah i think thats too much imo
In Parfait il only be missing a cranky..
In Azalea ill have all

Imo, you should try getting all of the personalities :). You'll be happier having all the personalities I promise you :P
