Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Direct!

I tried the demo yesterday. The Mii creator is so good and I was surprised to have a full blown birthday celebration for just a demo (it was my birthday irl I didn’t just set it for lolz). Game is amusing so far.

Though I must say not doing any censorship, no Mii sharing outside of locally in person or no photo/clip sharing are huge misses. Mii sharing in Miitopia was awesome especially for more detailed miis I couldn’t do justice for making myself. Not doing censorship is a choice (doesn’t really make a difference to me) but I believe because of that is why they’ve disabled image/clip sharing. I mean people will still result to potato quality phone pics anyways so I’d rather just have the censorship and be able to freely share to be honest.

Nintendo made an announcement about the bug where you can’t play at all after finishing the demo! Supposedly it only happens at night, but they’re aware of the issue.
Could you link to the tweet/article that addresses this? I would love to share it with others.

This is the Tweet! I couldn’t find an English version.
Thank you. This tweet actually addresses the issue of the demo crashing when the following conditions were met: once you reach the end of the demo, starting the game or resuming from sleep mode when the console's system time is between 9:00 PM and 10:00 AM.

Nothing was mentioned regarding the Miis being stuck to their houses once you give at least one of them clothes.

Yup! That is what I was referring to, the bug where you can’t open the game at all.

I know Japanese but I was too lazy to write an English translation haha

I played it too and as expected I really want the game now! The demo was enjoyable but thinking about all the things I will be able to do in the full version makes me really excited for it. I might actually get it for myself as a late birthday present since I didn't get anything for myself this year.

We can have up to 70 Miis on the island. Which is a bummer for me because I like to have a wide variety like in the DS and 3DS versions (played both). But I can understand and 70 is still a lot.

About a week ago I decided that I want to buy the physical copy on launch, and since then I've been checking local [online] stores and it's unavailable everywhere! I've seen that a few batches were added to some stores few times but they sold out instantly. I also saw that a similar thing happened with Pokopia and it only came back to stores a few days ago!!! It wasn't available for more than a month after release and second hand copies had crazy high prices. That's all insane and I really hate this.

I would prefer to get the physical version because it's noticeably cheaper, I can sell it later if I don't like the game, and I also don't trust Nintendo to keep the servers alive in a few years.

Wow, losers and their stupid robots will really scalp anything and everything huh.

Honestly I can see how that happened with Pokopia since anything Pokemon-related seems like an instant target for scalpers these days. Tomodachi is a surprise though.

Well I don't know how how it looked in other countries, but I have a suspicion that Nintendo doesn't care very much about market here and they just threw us way too small amount of Pokopia copies. But how it was possible for the game to be constantly unavailable in stores for a whole month after release, I have no idea.

And scalpers suck, I agree, but to be fair on second hand sites I only saw like 3-5 Pokopia copies available when I checked from time to time out of curiosity. So I think the main issue was very limited availability in the first place. I think with Tomodachi now it's a similar case, but I still hope they will restock soon 🥺
