Oh my gosh I HATE Tom Nook! He's so greedy and only wants money and charges you for everything and in AC:GC he is so mean! What are you thoughts on him or Timmy & Tommy which I think aren't that bad. :o

I like him. He's sweet and polite and let us take our time with our mortage, makes nice houses, gave his old business to his nephews. I never understood why people a) think he should do everything w/o charging b) dislike him so much )-:

I guess you can look at him that way in new leaf, because he doesn't do that much for you to dislike him, but in AC:GC he gives you many reasons to!

I played population growing, and I can't really remember anything to make him bothersome, besides the initial work thing, but he was just trying to help. Maybe I missed something?

He forces you to work and yells at you a lot and says "don't slip up or everyone will hate you" and mean things, they changed him in new leaf because little kids would get upset when he said mean things.

Lol, yea but he's kinda charging to much D-:

Well he isn't charging too much really... If you had the whole house straight away without having to pay all that much, it would take away one of the main goals you first work towards in the game.

Eh, I really can't remember he yelling at you, and forcing you to work is just like of these "forced" tutorials we have nowadays to get the gist of a game. But maybe that's just me, lots of people seem to dislike him. I still like him a lot!

I also agree with elle7, he definitely doesn't charge a lot, specially in NL where it's soooo easy to earn money. It would take away one of the main objectives of AC if houses were cheaper!

He was hilarious in the Gamecube game.

Just how he trolls you on how much the house cost after he builds the 2nd floor and the statue cracks me up.

Also his past relationship with Sable is adorable BTW.

I remember how you could take off your work uniform in front of him in the GCN version and he would be mad.

I don't really hate him. You know, building houses is his job, and he has to earn some money for doing it, right? Even if the house loans may be a bit expensive, I don't think that there's any reason to hate him. Also, as some of you have already said, it's a lot easier to earn bells in ACNL than in previous games!

I don't think he's that bad. I mean, how much were you actually expecting to pay in order to end up with a mansion? Big houses don't come cheap. Anyway, everyone needs to make a living, and if we'll pay that much to expand our houses, why shouldn't he charge the amount he does?

I didn't exactly like him too much in WW because he would force you to work with no questions. Like, no, I can make bells without working honey. But now, I actually really like him. He's polite, kind, and patient. He doesn't force you to pay altogether and you can take however long you want to upgrade your house. I think waiting is the beauty of the game, it teaches patience. Also, some of the Animal Crossing creators said that they never understood why Tom Nook got such a bad reputation and that they intended him to be a nice guy that wants to help you.

I think he's a good guy. Think about it this way: He sells you a house for little to no money so that you won't be homeless, and as for the rest of the debt, he says, "Don't worry about it! Pay it when you can!"

Tom Nook's alright. :)

I like him. He's just trying to make a living, and everything he charges for is for good reason & at a decent price. There's not much to dislike about the guy. :)

I like Nook. If it wasn't for his high prices, I would get bored of the game too soon. I like working for things that I want. I honestly wish some things in the game were pricier, and I wish the houses were bigger.
