tom nook not upgrading k u supposed get 1 point every 100 bells spent well i have 500 points no cheats used and he hasnt upgraded :O ill check tomorrow too

No one knows why he isn't upgrading for certain people, we're all assuming that he does this randomly.

Theory that is most probably correct and I will consider it to be true until there's proof of it not being true:
Once you've bought 25,000 bells worth of stuff from nook you have to wait a set amount of days before he upgrades, example being 1-7 days. Some would be more lucky than others and get it on the 1st day, while others would have to wait a whole week.
