As of today, June 2nd 2025, transferring save data from the original Pocket Camp to Complete is no longer possible. This marks the final ending to Pocket Camp. Now the app just sits on the phone taking up space. I just wanted to make this as a place to kinda share Pocket Camp memories. I'll start.

I first started playing in summer or fall of 2021 but I can't remember how I found out about the game. I just wanted more Animal Crossing after playing New Horizons. I got into the app, checking in a few times each day until the game tempted me with a free trial of the Happy Helper plan. I took the bait and ended up paying for the game for at least 3 months! There was one thing this game taught me and it was to think about what I was spending my money on. The day I realized this was when I was seriously thinking about buying into ANOTHER plan, the Furniture and Fashion plan, just to get one piece of furniture I wanted from a cookie that was out of season. It finally got me thinking and I put down the game and cancelled my current subscription for a while.
I was taking a break until I found out that the game was shutting down soon so I got back into it. Even if just to see what items they give away at the end! I played consistently from about September until November of 2024 when the game ended. I finally remembered why I even liked this game to begin and got attached to my campsite and villagers, so I did pre-order the game. But I saw this purchase as worth it since it was just one price, the $10 price, to keep enjoying the game unlike the constant subscription I bought into before. And I could get all the cool furniture and decorate my campsite without having to shell out for Nook Tickets!

Pocket Camp was my first real mobile game that came with the mobile game staples like microtransactions and was the game that taught me to think before I just go throwing my money at something. Is it something that you can enjoy for a long time or is it something that you will only enjoy for a moment before wanting even more? I still think fondly of Pocket Camp though, checking on my campsite during long car rides. During my subscription time I had Rosie as my campsite manager and I still have her in the positon to this day.
