To those who have Dobie...

I've put some serious thought to getting Dobie on my island! Those who have him, how is he? What are your thoughts on him as a villager, and how is he with other villagers? Feel free to share your thoughts, even if you don't have him, any help is appreciated!

Edit: I've decided to get Dobie! Feel free to still post about him here, though.

i don't have him living on my island but i have his amiibo! he's one of my favourite villagers - i like that he's just this lil old wolf. i have seen pictures of his ACNH house interior and i think it suits him really well.

I cry whenever I see him because he's so old and frail looking but I adore him! He's so cute. His faces are adorable! Interactions are so good....

Because he's looks so old and is kinda of a grump but is actually super sweet deep down, he reminds me of my late Papa (mom's dad) who I was super close to. So, Dobie's super special to me ☺

That's so sweet, I love to hear that some villagers are sentimental to people!

So I juust got him on my island because I was looking through my amiibo cards for a cranky, and there he was. I envisioned a persnickety grand-pappy that would teach me about life and fossils and everything in between ... and I was correct. I had another cranky and he left because there was no competition. He didn't even say stuff like Dobie, so I was like "is this other guy even a cranky?"

He sings the songs that are playing on my island and they must have gotten stuck in his head, because I just logged on to find him serenading two of the other villagers in my town plaza. He's the best grandpa I never had.

Can I even tell you what I gave him in his yard? A birdbath to watch the native birds, and a go board - because what grandpa doesn't love to play checkers (go)?

Hi! I have him. I got him from island hopping. I love him!! He's the perfect cranky. He is best friends with Reneigh (who is uchi).

I got Dobie from someone here in the forum and I adore him! This is the first game I've had him in. He's my sweet little old man, I love him so much. Friends that visit and meet him love him too. I highly recommend him <3

i have him too! also got him from someone here. he's such a sweet villager and my fav thing about his design is that his eyes are all black except for when he's shocked/surprised and they'll flash gold for a bit lol. makes me think he gets along with lucky. also he suits the cranky old wolf dialogue best, i think. i have fang too (and i love him!!) but until he tells me he's old and his bones are creaking i kind of forget that he is cause of his design haha

I got Dobie from someone on the forums! I absolutely love him! One of the reasons I love him so much is that he reminds me of my grandpa. My grandpa passed away awhile back. I love talking to Dobie whenever I pass by him or his house.

Since I was invited to post about him despite your decision:

Dobie is fantastic. As a ( sort of ) older player, who appreciates older ( looking ) characters getting some designs, Dobie catches my eye visibly. His new ( well, kind of, haha ) personality trade from lazy to cranky suits him sooo well, it's perfect! He sounds so tired, but trying his best to be optimistic despite sometimes forgetting if he even has a house to leave his oven on in.

He's graced me once in awhile with some standing curls and weight lifting, but usually loves to sit in my park at the duck pond on a bench or on the ground, staring at the ducks and sipping cherry juice like a good, cute little old man ought to.

His house is amazing, and I love to theorize what mystery he is solving! He has a red string board, papers scattered all over in front of it, and books galore, everywhere. I thought perhaps he is solving a mystery book, but after the 'I've moved out.' glitch forced out a villager who had actually moved in properly ( Marshal ), I like to pretend he's investigating who this weird Marshal clone is, as this surely cannot be the real Marshal ...

All in all, I love Dobie, haha.
