To reset... or not to reset?

This question has been burning on my mind for about a week now.
I love my current town, the landscaping (My town is FULL of blue hydrangea bushes), all my villagers, my paths, all of my PWPs, Perfect Town... But honestly... I feel like starting fresh, for some reason. I feel like everything's done...
I think if I was planning on restarting, I would try to have more "vanilla" game play? And not pick out every single one of my villagers, and stuff like that. (It might be more relaxing like that. I dunno.)

Does anyone else feel like this? On the verge of resetting, but not sure if you'll regret it later? Any advice? xD

I swear, every second thread on here is about resetting, lol.

Anyway, I'm sure you've not yet got every badge, catalogued every item, completed the museum and all that fun stuff. Perhaps purchase a second copy like others have done?

I think you'd regret it. I'd suggest just taking a break for a while and then come back to the game. It would be a shame to lose all that process if you're just fed up with the game.

Others might suggest you to buy a new copy, to me it would be too overwhelming, but it might work if your current town is complete.

I thought about resetting but I've just done too much. I've only just now achieved perfect town aside finally got some PWP's in the right places....so I'm remodelling the town hall now which I've been waiting for for such a long time.
What I've done instead is bought another copy of the game. I can keep myself entertained on that with cycling and experimenting for a while before I start up a new town properly to get the rest of my dreamies.
It can offer more challenges and if I need to I'll just get somebody to help me transfer bells and what not over to that cartridge.

That's personally what I would do (if you have the funds to do it). It's the best of both worlds. The only thing you'd need to do on your main town then is the general upkeep :)
Good luck!

Honestly, I thought this about Bevelle... then yesterday I nearly lost it all to corruption. I thankfully managed to get it back, but it made me realise how much I actually adore my town and villagers... Imagine if you reset, you would lose everything!

I am another one who is going to suggest getting a second town... I have 4 now and can honestly say you forget how much hard work the early days are! Archades (my new, natural town) is so much hard work compared to the very developed Bevelle!

I love your idea of having a natural playthrough town... but I really do advise that you do that with a second cart! It's great fun to play naturally, but there is also a lot to be said about the work that goes into a perfectly planned town ;)

It's also really cool to have a second town, for when you really want to keep playing but have exhausted everything on your first town for that day :)

Good luck with your decision

It sounds like you still like your town, and have no complaints about permanent things like rocks, river shape, etc. You might regret the reset.

If you don't mind paying for a second cartridge, you could have 2 towns. Have your cake and eat it too. ^^

Honestly, resetting for me was great.
I was losing my fun in the game...not really wanting to check up as much on it...

And then I was so happy. I made the choice to reset when I saw how happy everyone else was doing.
Didn't like my town shape or anything like that at ALL.
My villagers were mostly dreamies-but if I reset it wouldn't be hard when I could come on here.

I could easily TT and get the QR code machine VERY fast. I stored some of my favorite flowers and furniture on my husbands cartridge. A lot of people did this with friends OR just re-bought some stuff from people on these forums.

I made the choice and am so happy to build my town back up and have stuff to do. My town is the exact shape I want it to be in, my villagers are getting to be all dreamies. I have lots of flowers (could always use more) and am building my town back up with all of the prettiest plants and tree paths I can.

I now have stuff to do everyday and am inspired to keep going and make this town perfect.
I felt like before even if I was getting EVERYTHING right... it still wouldn't have been as perfect as it could have been.
Now in this town I am much more happy and excited to play. I have been playing everyday for majority of the day.
I wasn't that excited since when the game first came out.

I am building my PWP slowly but surely, planting all of my paths.... it is getting there and I am super happy and excited once again. I don't think you will regret it. the forums make it so easy to get your town back on track. It is so much fun to re-start.
I re-started in June. And just decided to play using the forums for help.

Before I was just playing letting whoever move on in and planting natural flowers, watering, getting my PWP in. Fishing at the island and working on my museum. It was so much fun. I am still enjoying that game play. I love it and forgot how relaxing it all is.

It took me a while of wondering if I would regret it and I wasn't into playing and would avoid my DS for a long long time. Finally I just said well I am not playing much anyways, so why not??? Haven't looked back since. I LOVED resetting and encourage everyone contemplating it to do so. It can't hurt at all. The forums make it so great to re-start.

I love it. I hope you enjoy your game soon!! Good luck! c:
