To Colton or not to Colton?

I really need your advice, guys. My DS is on my desk, closed, and has been there for the past hour. Colton pinged me to move, and the dialogue box is still open, unanswered.

I have all my dreamies now. I've worked hard and met some amazing people who gave me my favorites, and my town is now full of villagers that I absolutely love to spend each and every day with! ...And then there's Colton. He's been with me from Day One, he's not a dreamie per se, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't miss him. But so many others love him, probably much more than I do. On the other hand, I don't wanna do the whole cycle dance again, having someone move in I can't stand, getting 'em out, maybe never finding anyone to fill the gap where his house is.

I don't know what to do. I know it's a dumb game, but I really do get attached to these lil' guys! The knee-jerk reaction is just to keep him, but then when I think about it I become unsure again. Grr! ><;; Why's this gotta be so hard?

Maybe you should go through the entire smug list and decide who your favorite smug is. If you don't see any you like more than Colton then I'd say keep him for the sake of having more personality in your town. If not then give him to someone who REALLY loves him and it may take time but you can replace him with a smug you like more. Hope this helps. Good luck with your decision! :)

It's not so much about personality as it is looks and cuteness. I so love his blue eyes and pink cheeks, but I have Julian now, by far the better smug and one that I hold VERY dear to my heart for personal reasons. I wouldn't mind Papi in my town, but the effort it'd take to get him, I dunno if it'd be worth it. :/

Also keep in mind that the new villager won't be able to move out until someone else did. Some people say that their 10th moved in villager left first, so it might be able to happen.

I think if you don't absolutely love him and are indecisive then it's kind of a sign to let him go? You might find someone else you'd rather have. :)

Well...I DO want to get Beau back. I traded him a long time ago in order to get Lolly (no regrets! Well okay, a little regret). I love that antelope, his face looks just like Kanga's from Winnie the Pooh :p

But I still have like 10 cycles to go to get him back and it'd take forever! Buh, why am I so indecisive? ><;;

Oh wow, this is the exact same thing I'm going through right now! Colton pinged me today too and I was so indecisive I just flipped my DS closed because I couldn't for the life of me figure out whether or not I wanted him to leave. Colton seems to be one of those tricky glue-like villagers, I guess! XD

It's a big decision! I know the feeling. I had to deal with it with Skye and Kiki. I traded them for Bud and Bangle and I love B&B. Just go with your gut. You could always just tell him to stay and see how you feel. He'll ping again later. Hah

I've had him in my village since launch and he's literally only pinged me to move twice in all that time. :p So it's now or never!

I have the same feels for Bob. Been with me since day one. my ONLY starter left. I love him, a lot. But I don't know if one day I'll let him go. Also, even if you gave Colton away and someone else comes in that you don't particularly like, at least its like... different.

What I'm trying to get at is... right now I could buy all my dreamies. But I already have half of them (marshal, merengue, julian, ankha, zucker) so I still have another 5 spots to play around with. But once I fill them all up with my dreamies...then like...that's the set of villagers you're gonna have for life (well for a long while lol) so, I'm actually debating on letting go my other villagers, and just wait to see who will show up from either a wifi pool or from someone's void.

I just feel like once you get all the villagers you want... the game becomes less enjoyable :P And remember, no villager is lost forever. There will always be a chance to get them back!

I have Colton too, and he's pinged me many times to move, but I can't seem to let him go. I've had him for such a long time, and his house is in just the right spot... Moving him out to fuss with the whole "must-get-the-perfect-villager" thing of just too much work, and I've got too much at stake in my town. ( I've literally built my entire town around the houses, if the next one moves into a bad spot, I'd have a ton of work to do to try and fix the damage.) He's an adorable animal, and I like him very much. But the choice is yours! You could always rebuy him if you miss him that much, it'll just cost you a lot. (:

Let me say, Colton is an amazing smug, one of the bests in my opinion, if not the best. Everything about him suits the smug personality, making him a funny, dreamy romantic character.

But at the end, taking him or not it's up to your decision. You could maybe take him for a while, to truly see if you like him or not; if you don't try seeing if someone else wants him when he pings you.

i have a head canon that Julian and Colton are brothers if this secretly helps heh

I love Colton! Somebody just gave him to me today. He just fabulous. However, I DO also need him for my pirate/nautical/sailor themed town. But that's my point of view on him, and yours might be different. KEEP IN MIND THOUGH, if Colton moves out and you already have Julian (a smug) you can't get a smug to move in by natural means unless you get rid of Julian AND THEN another villager after.

I no longer have any of my starters, and I will admit it's a little weird. Feels like I rushed through the game and like I missed out on getting to know them better (even the ones I wasn't too keen on). I have a feeling you'll regret letting Colton go, otherwise you wouldn't have started this thread. I say you keep him, at least until your final dreamie comes along. :)

let him go let him go can't hold him in anymore (to the song let it go)

But if I was you I would move him out and find that tenth dreamie
