I really wanna get a villager pic, but I'm new to Animal Crossing and I don't have much experience. If you could give me tips that would be awesome!!! Thanks! I really appreciate it!
Send your villager letters. Everyday. Attach gifts while you're at it.
Do everything they ask and never turn down their offers.
Talk to them frequently.
Another method is to time travel back to April fool's day and get all the pics that way, but it's a little more risky. It's faster though! Sometimes I believe it's worth it if you know how to time travel.
I rarely send letters. Basically I sent enough to get the bronze badge and until I get my town more where I want it I will probably not send another one (when I have more time to sit around typing with a stylus...)
That being said, I get a decent amount of pictures from my villagers (I've gotten up to three from the same villager!) and this is what I do...
Talk to them. A LOT. Every day I try to find every villager that isn't on market street and talk to them until their opening dialog begins to change (for instance when my peppy villager starts to say "omg did they clone you!!!" I know I've spoken to her enough. I try to get as close to prompting the "I"m overwhelmed and need to think, please leave me alone" speech as I can without actually making them go into deep thought. EVERY. DAY.
Most of them ask me for a favor within the first two or three times I talk to them. I fulfill as many of their requests as I reasonably can. I bring them fish and bugs (within reason, they keep asking for stringfish, and Purrl once asked for a coelacanth of all things), when they ask for fruit I always bring them perfect fruit of whatever type they ask for (I trade with people to have a stash of each type), I buy them furniture and run their errands, I let them come to my house and try to always keep dates to visit theirs (if you don't engage them when they're in your house it doesn't take forever, just let them in, they'll mill about in the first room a minute or two and then say its been a long time and leave. its only when you talk to them that you get stuck either dragging them on a tour of your place or having to leave before them), I go to other towns to get signatures for their ridiculous petitions...
Basically the only thing I don't usually do for them is engage in hide and seek.
I get about one villager picture per week at this point. The trick is keeping your friendship up with everyone.
It has the added bonus that I've NEVER had a random move out, one of the villagers ALWAYS tattles on whoever is planning to move and I just have to go run in front of them for a ping sometime that day (usually happens for me same day, sometimes the next, sometimes I have to save and start up again a couple times to get them in the right place to be able to ping, but I've never once been surprised about a move out)
go above and beyond for your villagers, talk to them frequently and send them letters attached with presents. if they ask you for fruit, try to bring them a perfect fruit, it makes them really happy. if they ask for bugs and fish, giving them rare ones will also increase your friendship (although i don't like bringing them those because it ruins their houses...). i think giving them customized furniture makes them happy as well when they ask for something new to put in their room. i've gotten nearly everyone's picture by just giving them perfect fruits tbh.
I barely ever send letters, so what I usually do is help them out with whatever I can, and when they ask for fruit I give them perfect fruit~ just do nice things for them and eventually they'll give you their picture :>
