I've decided to use my CN Platinum reward to get a digital copy of NL for the purpose of starting a cycling town.
For those of you who have cycling towns, do you have any tips or tricks you'd like to share?
Is there anything you wish you had known when you started your town?

I cycled for a little while, and my main piece of advice is to use this cycling method. When used correctly, it's literally impossible to lose a villager and you can get a new villager into boxes as quickly as every 5 minutes if you want.

It won't work if you want to keep certain villagers though!! If you're planning on keeping some villagers or aiming to get specific ones, cycling will be a much slower process.

Good luck! ^^

^ What Dewy said ^^ & the cycling method they linked to. I've been using the simplified version of that method (can be seen in the 1st post in that thread) and it worked like a charm, with 200% success rate.

Three VERY important things to take note of when starting a cycling town, if I may add:
- Please, at your earliest possible convenience, change all those ugly default anywhere shirts in Able sisters to, say, displayed in umbrellas patterns (or anything that villagers can't wear). That would stop them from constantly changing into those.

- Replaced all 8 display slots in your Re-Tail with items like regular flowers/native fruits/sea shell, etc, then priced them at max bells of 999999 bells (1 bell short of one million). That way, you blocked out one main channel of your villagers selling their stuff there, and it comes in super handy when trading, and whoever needs to pay you anything over 1 mil can use this Re-Tail method, instead of dropping bell bags which scammers can fool you with bell bags of much lesser amounts. The paying party can simply buy each displayed items at almost 1 mil each, so it makes it a lot easier to keep track and saves time too.

- Try to build all 3 bridges as soon as you can, makes trading easier, and select to have the Beautiful Town Ordinance ON. That way, your town will be blooming with sea of flowers instead of weeds (unless that's what you wanted)

Hopefully this helps, and good luck + have fun!! ^.^

Amazing advice, especially the part about buying an item instead of dropping bell bags. It's a shame scammer exist in such an innocent game.
