About 4 or so months ago, I had to stop playing New Leaf so that I could focus on revising for my Higher Exams. However my last exam is in a few days and I want to get back into the game.

But I am worried about how I'm going to fix my town once I return to the game. In 4 months time, it's most likely that there's going to be weeds everywhere and friendship levels with villagers will be very low.

Does anyone have any tips on the first things I should do after loading my village for the first time in 4 months and the best way to return it to how it was before I stopped playing. I don't want to time travel as I feel it ruins it somewhat and I want to play as legit as possible.

Thanks!

TT to the last day you played or an estimate of the last day you played. Speed TT by going day by day for maybe 20-30 minutes each until you get back to today.

Oh, sorry, didn't see that you didn't want to TT. I don't really have any tips for you, sorry.

It's fine :p I appreciate the help anyway!

If you don't want to TT thus not doing cosmonaut's suggestions then play like any other time you would normally play.
Just would need to pull some weeds every now-n-then or if you don't want to people over in the train station forum will probably come and do it since they want the weeding badge.

Just play like normal. I mean, unless you were attached to certain changeable aspects in the game (villagers, hybrids, paths) there really shouldn't be a problem getting back into it.

Just... Start playing haha. Play as you normally would. Talk to your villagers and do chores for them. Pull your weeds out and clean up your town. I'm sure your town will be up and running in a spiffy manner in no time.

If you don't want to lose a villager, first go in as a new character and see if anyone's missing. If they are, you'll have to break your no TT rule and go back to when you last played and stop them.

Well I haven't stopped playing for any length of time, but I did reset ...... upon resetting I realized that I left my Pave carpet!! DOH! I worked really really hard to complete the set, so I TT'ed back to Festivale and got the carpet, then I TT back to the day I was on ......

It had only been 2 months since Festivale but there were weeds everywhere!! Leif tried to make it fun to pull them all, other than a bunch (all) of my hybrids dying (everything except golden roses)... and Elmer moving out ... my bad hair day and roaches in my house not much had changed with my town. That was at the beginning of this month, and now I have no weeds, Rudy took Elmer's place, and slowly but surely my hybrids are coming back!
