I have another copy on the way but I do not want to fudge up my main one, as I know I will forget and just load it up lol. Can I use the 2nd games ingame clock instead of the 3ds to time travel to cycle villagers?
I have looked online but nothing really solid, I cannot afford a 2nd 3dsm so that is no option.

yes? if youre just asking if you can use the ingame clock to tt then yes you can idk whyd you think you couldnt

tho fyi if you change the system clock while the 2nd one is in and not the 1st one it wont change the time of the 1st one when u put it back in

I knew you could change the time, but I wasn't sure if it would work for t'ting :P given, may have been a stupid question but I wanted to know.

I always use the ingame clock for TTing, works just fine. :)
I also use it for plot resetting and campsite resetting. I just load with my mayor at 5:58am and then save an quit.
By the time I'm with a new save file it's 6am.

If you're using the same DS for both towns I would definitely recommend TT-ing with your in game clock rather than the system clock, or it could get mighty confusing...

thank you! :) I just wasn't sure lol wanted to be 100%, was so silly to ask so thank you all for replying.

I never tried TTing with the in-game clock. It must be so much easier than the method I've been doing with exiting the game and opening the system settings and going through all those menus. Noted! :)
