Hi, all! I'm nearing completion of my Asian-themed island, and I really want to time travel back to cherry blossom season to see what it looks like :( The thing is, I have never time travelled that far back (or forward haha) before, and I am a bit anxious about it (I have only time travelled within the new week!) Therefore, I'm wondering, before I do this, if there is anything else to consider that might give me pause before! Is there anything to look out for if I time travel back to April? I would greatly appreciate any tips and/or guidance about this! Thank you so much in advance :D

Turnips will rot. You'll get a bunch of weeds and flowers if you come back to present day unless you have your flowers fenced off so they can't grow more. Your friendship with the villagers will be the same but they'll comment that you have been gone for a while if you come back to thre present.

Ah thanks! From the sounds of it looks like it actually doesn't seem that bad at all nor really discouraged by the mechanics of the game. Thanks for the help!!

Unless you've made a wish on some falling stars today (in which case, you may not get the star fragments) there really isn't much harm in it, form what I understand!

I'll be doing it soon as well, I want to recreate an old character with a new name, but have the same move-in date 😛

I time travelled a few months forward by accident. I was levelling up some pokémon in sword through a method that requires changing the date but forgot to set the correct date after playing. So, when I played new horizons, I didn't realize it wasn't the right date until Isabelle made me notice it! (Her announcements are useful, after all). I quit the game hoping that this changing of date wouldn't affect anything in any way and set the correct time by time travelling backwards. In the end, nothing changed at all, apart from the weeds that I had to remove, but it wasn't a difficult task neither did it take so long. Compared to past games, new horizons doesn't penalize you for time travelling, be it forward or backwards.

If you travel back, you will have to deal with weeds, villagers thinking about moving, turnips rotting, cockroaches in your house, and I think that’s it. Not much of a big deal other than turnips.
