time traveling and intentionally getting villagers to move out?

hello! im very very new to time traveling and i am not going to be doing it other than for this, so im a little lost and would really appreciate some help cause this in particular is really important to me!!

ok, so a little while ago i decided i really didnt like my town anymore but i didnt want to delete it, seeing as i had three neighbors who i really love still living there, so i bought a digital copy. i really want to get lucky, francine, and genji to move over to the new one, and im really impatient (and sad without lucky!!) so i heard that you could time travel to get them to move faster. i also heard that its a good idea to check on them every day just in case, but how many times would i have to talk to them? also, i think someone also said something about them automatically being able to move any time if you time travel..? like they would just be gone or something? ;n; and say they do tell me theyre moving on a certain date, can i time travel to that date and then just come over on my other town and convince them to move there?

im just really worried and anxious and scared to do it! i know that obviously i would need open spots and no more than 2 villagers with the same personality (though i have heard of people having 3...) but other than that, could someone please give me a for sure way to do this? sorry if i sound silly

time travelling is actually pretty harmless (aside from turnips dying), as long as you only do one day at a time. i TT to do this and the villagers i want to keep do ask to move out all the time, but it's easy to stop them by telling them no since they always stay put when you do. you just have to run around once each day, because if they wanna move out they're gonna tell you immediately the first time you sign on for that day. and if you miss out on talking to someone for a day it's not a big deal, since they give you enough warning that you get about 5 days or so to stop them.

and remember that when you're done you can always travel back in time to today's date too, going back in time doesn't make any villagers move out or weeds grow so it's pretty safe to travel backwards :3

yup! once i did have another villager say that he'd heard a rumour of tangy leaving in normal conversation, so i rushed to go talk to her and she didn't ! at me nor say anything in normal conversation, but she pinged at me the first thing next day to tell me. so yeah sometimes villagers will gossip about others leaving, and i think that just means the villager in question preparing to tell you the next day. that's the only variation i've seen and i've done a loooottt of TTing trying to get neighbours out, haha.

yup! once i did have another villager say that he'd heard a rumour of tangy leaving in normal conversation, so i rushed to go talk to her and she didn't ! at me nor say anything in normal conversation, but she pinged at me the first thing next day to tell me. so yeah sometimes villagers will gossip about others leaving, and i think that just means the villager in question preparing to tell you the next day. that's the only variation i've seen and i've done a loooottt of TTing trying to get neighbours out, haha.

ohh, so did that neighbor that told you tangy was moving come up to you, or did you have to go talk to him? and one more thing, so like say lucky tells me hes moving, can i time travel to the day he is all packed up and go pick him up on my other town? ;u; sorry for all the questions gjskd

Ive been wondering. But usually the person who wants to leave is walking around the village, so I have a feeling that if they arnt in town, they dont plan on moving? <--Dont take that seriously, I have no clue.

how did all of them move in? like do you have to get one from the campsite or has everyone ive heard from been misinformed? ;~; i want 3 normals!!

For me: two moved in naturally and the third I asked to move in from the campsite.

I understand, Ive been doing this to get my perfect villagers. Id be super sad if Hamphrey,Tex,Erik or Wolfgang just up and left
I go out of my way to make sure I talk to the ones Im really attached to and accept their little quests

ikr!! ive already got 5 of my dream villagers with a couple being traded to be but i cannot get over not having lucky in my new town right now!!

huh... i guess ill have to try that! i wonder if it works for convincing them to move from someone elses town too :S

Yes, totally the same.
my 2nd one moved in although I've just let my cranky villager gone.
Then the 3rd one is in the campsite and I recruit him!
