Time Travel Question

I had 10 villagers with one in boxes. I thought I'd be able to accept someone else's villager in boxes to move in for the subsequent day, but that wasn't working, so I had to time travel a day forward so that I had 9 villagers. Now I am one day in the future and expecting that new villager "tomorrow." Can I time travel back to the correct date now? Or should I wait until I have that villager's sign post in my town tomorrow? Or wait even longer until they are actually in my town two days from now?

Thank you for the advice!

You should be able to move back to the original date, because time travelling backward, no matter how many days back, will still equal one day in game.

I: I really hope you're right. I will risk it in a few minutes, and if there are adverse affects, I'll post them in this thread in case anyone else comes looking. ^^;

So far the only adverse effects I ever experienced from traveling back any number of days was that for awhile I stopped getting spontaneous letters from my neighbors and I had this glitch on my birthday where I didn't get a letter from mom or a party. Just throwing them out there for people to know.

I always wait even though I know it shouldn't matter. Hope to hear back from you on a successful adoption. Who did you get?

Haha. I feel like I'll look the liar because of your avatar and sig - but I swear, I just got Savannah. (:

Edit: After going back a day, her sign is in my town, so it looks like everything should be fine. (:

Yeah, I was going to say, it should be fine. I time travel all the time in my towns so. :D

But glad it worked out for you in the end!

I don't think that's a glitch, many people have reported this before from what I remember. Your birthday can only happen once and since you already experienced it, you can't do it again. That's why even though you TT'd back to your birthday since everyone threw one for you it just meant you celebrated it already. If you TT forward to your birthday though everything is normal. It could also be because when you make a wish, villager will keep asking and talking to you about it until your birthday comes up again and a new wish is put into place.
To the original post, I'm glad you got everything to work out fine! I was gonna say the main adverse effect would just be turnip prices and turnips themselves rotting and that the villager would plot that day similar to if you just TT forward one day. I was way too late, but you seemed to have worked everything out so congrats!

That's the thing, I never celebrated my birthday yet. My birthday is in December, but what I did was once I got to the end of November, I time travelled back to Halloween to redo the the holiday and then just time traveled a day at a time forward again (I also did this because I wanted to stay in fall a little longer), eventually getting to my birthday. Between then and now I did notice that I got no spontaneous letters for about three weeks and then on my birthday there were no birthday letters and no party.

Wow, that is weird then. I've never heard of that happening before. I definitely know that after a while of TT forward, less and less letters will be sent to you, but I never figured you wouldn't have a birthday party or letters if you didn't even celebrate it yet. Hopefully it is a temporary glitch that happened and you'll be able to celebrate it normally when your birthday actually comes though :)

As a weird FYI, the first villager to ever leave my town showed up on my Main Street today. She didn't make reference to leaving, and her house didn't like, repop on my map, but I saw her there twice while playing and I'm pretty sure she's gone now... O.o

But Savannah has moved in and all seems well, regardless. d:

Oh. You're so lucky:) Hope you enjoy her!

If your first villager to leave just showed up on Main Street, you are starting to see part of that 16 villager cycle. Each time someone moves out now, you'll get the next past villager up on Main Street too. You'll need to finish the 16 villager cycle before that villager will stop showing up on Main Street. I think it's the the most recent 3 or 4 move-outs don't show up on Main Street, so you'll eventually have a random group showing up there from your past move outs. It gets kind of crowded sometimes!

It's normal! Villagers who have left show up there sometimes. It doesn't mean they'll move back in.
