I'm just a ghost.
No they will not change instead they will be gone if you time travel forwards or backwards. The only time you want them to change the villager they pick is to close your game as soon as they mention the villager's name that you don't want to move out, and reopen the game. Redo the card mini game until you win and then they will pick someone different. Its RNG so you have to get lucky if they pick the villager you want to move out.

It’s worth mentioning that if this is your first campsite visitor, you need to invite them. You cannot change who they are. You can boot them later, but you are forced to invite the first campsite visitor to your island.
