I was gone for two days and in Merengue just up and moved out of my town. Two days, I talked to her every day before that. What the heck?

I lost Coco like that. I didn't restart my town though. I just made her a grave as if she died (where her house used to be lol), placed her pic in my house, and continued getting dreamies till I felt better. I felt pretty sad when I lost Agnes too, but I felt a little better knowing I could chill with Muffy again v_v

My advice is fill the void with other cute characters. I've had Merengue before. I know the exact pain Her pic is in my kitchen.

I'm probably not going to delete, I'm just so furious because that's not how villagers are supposed to move out.

What? You're gonna delete your town just because merengue moved out and you're sad? That sounds stupid non offence. You have no idea how many favourite villagers moved out of my town because i wasn't consistent on playing the game and kept neglecting them but I still accepted it and move on. When they moved out i just tried the 16 villagers cycle or find new villagers to add to my dreamies list.

It was an exaggeration, can you ease up? And it was because I was gone for two days, that's why I'm so upset over it.

You say no offence but still say something that could cause offence.
If they wanted to restart, that is their choice.

Anyway, Moekko, I'd say try and find a villager you like, and do something in memory of Merengue! Maybe get some art of your Mayor with Merengue, make a Merengue themed area where her house was- and maybe know eventually 16 villagers will have passed and she could return? c:

I understand the pain of losing a beloved Villager- I lost all my Villagers, including Erik and Bam, due to a System Reset gone wrong, so, I can get why it must be hard for you.

I can be happy that it wasn't Roscoe or Graham who moved out. I'm not about that cycling life, so I don't think I'll be seeing Merengue again any time soon. I can only hope I can fit something in where her house was so I can have my nice little triangle of structures back.

i lost lolly once and deleted my town because i couldn't stand it haha. i guess if that makes me stupid then so be it.

I'm sorry to hear that! I've had villagers do that to me before, and it really upset me to the point of not caring about them anymore. I don't think it's worth deleting your entire town over losing a villager though, unless you really don't like your town. I understand what you're going through. The best bet would be to find another villager to take their place, or try working on landscaping or something else to get your mind off of it.

I'm really sorry that happened.
I'd suggest trying to get another villager you like that you don't have or trying to cycle, but as you said you aren't about that, then maybe just getting a different one you really like would be best.

For future reference; if you miss a day, you can always time travel back to the last day you played, get in and make sure no one wants to move, save and quit and then time travel one day forward until you're back at the right date.
UNLESS you buy turnips. Time Traveling will make your turnips spoil (which if you do buy them I'm sure you know).
It's the best way to make sure you don't lose someone again in the future.
It's what I do if I miss a day.
But, hey, if you want to reset your town, and you have a bunch of stuff, I'm sure you could find someone to hold your stuff if you want to do that and still reset.
There's nothing wrong with resetting because you lost a dreamie.
And it's not stupid either..............

I know you said it was an exaggeration and you probably won't reset, but just know there's nothing wrong with it if you do decide to reset because of this.

I legit restarted my town when I lost Julian Q ^ Q He did the same thing! I started my game after 3 days of not being on and he was gone! I wasn't happy with my town anyway, Limburg had moved right in front of my house and after 4 months he still wouldn't move out. I'm happy I did it though! I've not gotten Julian back but I'm enjoying my new town more.

I'm very sorry to hear that. :c
Happened with me and Molly. I'm actually trying to cycle her back in, 5 more to go! I didn't delete my town because I liked everything else about it including my other villagers and my landscaping job. On the bright side if you ever wanted certain villagers in your main shopping area now is the time to do a neat project while you cycle back in. That's once conciliation I had for loosing Molly, now I can have a bunch of birds shopping around.

Advice is keep talking to her every day don't skip a day. And talk to her after she pings you. It takes afew seconts before she pings you.

I'm sorry that happened, that must really suck. ;^; If you don't like your town the way it is, I wouldn't blame you for restarting at all tbh! I'm sure you could find someone to hold your items while you reset.

The other suggestions are good like building a memorial. Maybe a face standee of the villager with flowers, trees, and bushes decorated surrounding it?

Hope you feel better. It takes time to adjust to that. ;^;
