Maybe I'm just super slow but I just learned this and I'm so happy cuz this is adorable. ;_;

Calling them normal feels like it's a bit of an insult IMO I think that they shouldn't have ever translated it to normal for the English version. Because as we've probably seen they're not all exactly completely normal, they've got their differences... and being normal is boring. What do you think?

(I found out via http://doggugu.tumblr.com/post/117519724350/i-really-hate-that-the-translation-in-animal which has a lot of points I agree with)

I think "normal" villagers should be called "sweet" too. :) There is really no set definition for normal anyway, and it just sounds boring compared to the other personality types.

Yes, the normals are very sweet. They have always been my favorite personality type. Lazies are my next fave. They're pretty funny sometimes.

Kinda like in Pokemon, people usually don't pick normal as their favorite type. It comes across as bland, with nothing special even though that's not true

Normalcy is something we want sometimes, since being 'weird' is considered bad. But then 'normal' is seen as bad too, if not worse

well most of the time people don't pick normal pokemon because most of them suck xD

Normal villagers are one of my favourite personality types, they definitely are "sweet". Normal in Animal Crossing seems to mean a kind and supportive villager as oppose to a boring villager.
Normal villagers have a lot to offer and they aren't as bland as the name may suggest.

Yes, the nomal villagers are very sweet, but it`s not a translation error, they are called nomal villagers in Japan too.

Yeah.. it isn't a translation error. Sweet/Sweetie villager are just a second classing name given to them by players because of how they act.
