Thread Display Mode--newest first or oldest first?

I have mine on newest first, which is good when I go BACK into a thread I've already looked at. But it's so annoying the first time I look at a thread, I have to go find the first ever post to find out what the thread's about.

So I'm wondering what do most people choose, and why?

Personally, I like oldest first.
