Right? I think most people who complain about them being so mean have never picked up the earlier titles. The grumpy and snooty (and even peppy to an extent) were just nasty in the GC version. I recently dug out my GameCube and hooked it up just to replay Animal Crossing.
My old file was long gone, so I had to make another. Nook told me to greet everyone as part of my job duty. Everyone I greeted, it seemed like they were in a foul mood. I know the idea of the game is to eventually make them like you, unlike in New Leaf where everyone is 'friends', but if I ever had a new neighbor come over and introduce themselves, I wouldn't be running my mouth like the villagers were. And if I was, I'd probably have a fist in said mouth.
I love Uchis! I think they'd definitely be better received if they were prettier, considering most of them are odd looking or just ugly by most people's standards for their villagers. I think that they have really endearing personalities and great quotes. Phoebe and Hazel are two of my favorites, but I do like a lot of the Uchis.
Ahhh, I love uchis so much! Their tough big-sister personality is very cute and some of their designs are pretty neat! I didn't actually like them at first but as soon as my character got closer to them, I found myself warming up and the uchi opening up. I've always considered the uchi in my town to be my character's bff.
I like them, Uchi is the only personality not in my town currently. My all time favorite is Diva, but Phoebe is not bad looking herself, I just don't really like her interior design as much as I should. I like the personality itself but I think they lack couth, but that adds to their charm, in a way. I heavily relate to waking up at 11 AM and acting like its real early, I mean beauty takes half a day of rest, am-I-right.
I have Diva in my town and I love her. Its really funny because although she is so small (shes a frog) she has such a big personality.
But before Diva I had Paula who I did not find as endearing, maybe because she was not as cute lol
