i worry for my safety, as well as for the safety of my friends and other minorities.

if you know that your safety and rights are not at all affected or trivialized by this outcome, i hope you realize how privileged you are.

I cried. This means my health insurance will be in danger and frankly, I need it.

This means my gay friends that are married may have their marriage made not valid. This means that Roe. v. Wade could get overturned. This means that my immigrant friends are no longer safe. We now have a Republican majority in the house and senate plus a Republican president and an open seat on the Supreme Court. Plus 3 aging judges.

To say this is going to be bad is an understatement, in my opinion.

^ this pretty much. disgusting result with a ****ed up elector system, what can go wrong? *rolls eyes*

I'm shocked by the election but I will say this:

I'm still proud to be an American.

I'm still proud to be the child of Latino immigrants.

I'm not moving to Canada.

I'm not losing faith in the country that provided my family and I such a better opportunity than their homelands do.

I'm proud of who I am.

If anything, now is a time to unite. We fellow minorities(race, women, sexuality, religion) cannot just simply be defeated. We must all stand together and be proud of who we are, and know that no one can shake our pride.

I have hope... I wanted Clinton to win but tbh if Trump doesn't do stuff such a walls and such... then really.... what?

Hoorah, now my dad is going to get deported and my mother and I will slowly starve to death.

im calm

like every election is like this... the losing side acts like the world will end for 4 years and the winning side gets really high and mighty. america has never been destroyed, no matter how dumb a president is. if he really tries to do anything so horrible that may end america hed be impeached.

if this is what the majority wants, this is what the majority gets. thats a part of living in a republic

So happy America's finally gonna be great again. Also liberal tears are pretty tasty but not the most refreshing with all that salt.

Im scared that I know a good majority of the country I live in already hates me and they don't even know me yet. Im scared for my family and friends, and I'm not even out yet. Looks like I'm a closeted pan/ace forever...

please stay safe everyone, we have to unite in this dark time. We only have eachother now.

I sense some patriotism here. I am patriotic too. I think America is the best country, despite the crazy PC people, immaturity, and the other bad stuff like that.

yikes ~~

it isnt so much that he's president now that I'm scared of. It's the way supporters of him will react to knowing that you can be a blatant racist, sexist, and homophobe and still be very successful in this country. I feel that it will only encourage uneducated folks to be even more violent towards minority groups.

today i've seen loads of people freaking out. "it's the end of the world!" "it's ww3!" and even a girl broke down and cried this morning. if you didn't want trump to win, it's ok to be upset but grow up, a lot of you are annoying me

I think that he will do okay as a president. I have confidence that he can make the right choices and be open-minded to the cabinet and his peers.

People need to keep in mind that just because Trump was elected president doesn't automatically call for WWIII. That's stupid. He won't even be sworn in until January 20, 2017!

Also, those people who say that they are leaving the US because of him being elected president obviously aren't thinking straight. They can't escape from the US. At all. No matter where you go, the new president's actions will follow. The United States is one of the leading countries in the whole world, so it would have a big impact on other countries, especially when it comes to the economy and foreign affairs.

Not showing support for our government is (I consider) un-American. Heck, I would support Hillary even though I think she deserves a life sentence.

People aren't even willing to give him a chance. I could see people freaking out if he's been president for a year and a lot of bad things have happened, but he hasn't even been announced the new president for very long (what, 12 hours?). They really need to think this through before they assume that this guy is going to absolutely ruin our country.

If he tries to ruin our country he can and will be impeached. Then we have Mike Pence. A guy you can trust.

Gotta have faith!
