Splatoon Thoughts on the Urchin Underpass redesign

I know that this is extremely late, but what are your guys' thoughts on the redesign?

I'm not that big a fan myself. It just feels too open. In the old map there were way to sneak into your opponent's base as well as well defined choke points.
 
The new underpass is probably one of my favorites now. There's great hiding places to ambush people, quite a few elevated platforms and there's more turf to ink.

I started hating the old uunderpass because it got to the point where people would keep the opposite team out of the middle and practically trap them in their whole base area. Which got boring fast since it happened every game. (Covering 80% of the turf also felt too quick)
 
To me, this one feels way too big. It went from being the smallest map to the second biggest, behind camp triggerfish. There's too many places for people to sneak up on me. I just want to snipe all of you in peace without a roller coming up behind me :rolleyes: But I do agree that the old one was really small. It was pretty difficult to get out once you got trapped in.
 
I'm a fan of this new Urchin Underpass because choking the whole enemy team into their base area is now a lot harder; the map makes it much more possible for teams to make a comeback, making for more exciting matches. I guess it is weird that the map would be redesigned in the first place, but I was honestly NOT a fan of the chokepoints myself zel.
 
I'm finding I really like this one for Splat Zones. Plus the elevated platforms in different areas makes this really neat. At first I thought it was too open, but that's only because I was still used to the old one.
 
I guess I only miss the old one because I was never the one being trapped at my base. I was the one trapping everyone else at their base.
 
Did they change where the splat zone was with the redesign? Otherwise I think the trees would get in the way.
