if only there was a way to trade bugs
i have yet to find a scorpion or trantulla
yet in my town its impossible to get them to spawn
too many trees and plants

is there a way visitors can donate to someones town museam?

Unfortunately there is not. I feel your pain btw, I've been waiting like a year now to catch a Tarantula, and I still need both types of salmon I believe ;s

I did not know the number of trees impacts scorpions/tarantula spawning-- does it just make them harder to see perhaps?? (or do they spawn like beetles?)

they normally spawn beetles

but scorpions and trantullas spawn in barren areas

I've caught tarantulas before and there are tricks to catching them!
However, I never caught a scorpion yet. The trick is the net (you actually need them out!) but make sure the tarantula doesn't see you first.

Found it easiest to get them in a new town with only a few trees. All 3 players caught them in a short period of time.
Removing some flowers and putting them on the beach helps. Found the spawn spots and place a flower or tile to remind me to go slow in those areas. Both side player caught the scorpion in front of the side player house near the beach.

Carrying your fishing rod and going about your daily things helps. I found one waiting for me when I left a villager house.
Switch to the net and it freaks out than I freeze. Wait until it calms down and than move slowly towards it. Just like you do with the golden stag on the island. 11 of the 14 players have completed their bug collection.

A month ago I read a post that someone got the bugs from someone. Not sure how you can. Do you have a friend that is good at catching them? Maybe they can try.

The only way I can possibly think of is if you give / sell a bug to a villager and then another character buys it from that villager. I don't think you can sell stuff to villagers in other people's towns, so I think it can only be done between two characters living in the same town.

So you can't put like a bug up for sale in retail and someone from another town buy it or something? I don't really want to catch the tarantula or spider.

I've actually never tried putting a bug up in Re-Tail, that's a good idea. But I've been struggling with them too! My main town is COVERED in flowers and trees, to the point where there isn't a single blank square. My second town has too many bushes and trees to spawn them, too. I'm pretty salty that you can't catch the Giant Stag before a certain time, too. I'm so forgetful to time travel, and I almost never stay up past 11 pm. I have school and work in the mornings. That one is more of a me problem, though.

One that surprises me is snails. I have so much trouble getting snails to spawn. So many bushes in Tansei. So much rain. No snails. RIP.

I've caught multiple tarantulas in broad, open areas at night. (8pm+) Good luck finding the bugs!

The post wasn't from a villager. It was from another player. That's why I wasn't sure how.
