This keeps happening when I try to visit towns. What is it?

I'm having a weird mesage pop up when I try to visit faraway towns and I can't find anything on the internet anywhere explaining what it is. It says "It seems someone in that town is in the middle of a conversation. Do you want me to try again?" Conversation with WHO though? Another player? A villager? Why is this stopping me from getting in? ;w; Explain pls and thank you

Yeah, they're talking to a villager, so it won't let you into the town until they finish their conversation. I believe it also won't let you in if someone's viewing their inventory.

... Really? I've been having this issue right now for like, 5 minutes. XD I guess it's a long conversation or something.

(Lol Im jk, they probably went afk while talking to a villager or something )

yeah it just means someone in that town is talking to a villager or an npc or someone so they just need to close their chat for you to head on over.
