...And my question probably has a really obvious answer, but I just want to double check!

I'm thinking of getting the New 3DS (or the New XL) sometime soon, and if I do, my current AC:NL game will play just fine on there right? With my current town?

Also, I currently have a 3DS XL. If I were to buy the New 3DS (so, not the New XL version), is it a massive difference? Has anyone done this? Does it look worse after you've been used to a bigger screen?

If it's a physical copy, your ACNL save will be just fine. But the only difference is a bigger screen.

I have a physical copy of animal crossing and the new 3ds XL. When I put Animal crossing in it said it will restart the town… and I quickly turned it off. So I transferred the old 3ds data onto the new and it worked just fine. Now it won't work on the old 3ds though, so on the new 3ds I can't flip the switch and turn internet off (which you have to do in home menu)

it works on the new 3ds if you have the physical copy.
the only thing i've noticed is that everything in the game looks sharpened a bit (i'm guessing because of the screen size) but it's very minor.

I have the new new 3ds xl, I had a normal 3ds before, and it does look a tad bit different, but its mostly the same. if you have a physical copy, before you put the game in transfer all the info from one to the other, then put the game in. if you have a downloaded copy, unfortunately I don't think its going to work. I read before on another post that it kept reseting their towns.

If it's digital, it should work.

I had NL digital, transferred it to new 3ds xl and it's just fine.

I had no trouble. My physical copy has worked on my old 3ds, my 2ds, and my n3dsXL. My digital copy won't work on the n3ds though, because I can't transfer the data to a micro sd card. I think it looks much nicer on the n3ds, but it might just be because my lighting levels are different XD
