This is not okay

Oh jeez - yikes. As someone who has run a Discord server with 300+ members before, mods are important! Not sure if there were any mods of any kind on whatever site you were on :/ still, they are important

yup. I didn't see any mods there though :/

I don't know of anyplace else where you are not going to get harassed, sorry...

I do want to say however, do not blame yourself. That was their choice to behave that way on that site and it was whoever moderates that site's choice to not do something about it sooner. You were just looking for another place to trade. You are not the one at fault here.

unfortunately, yeah, you're correct.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. If you haven't already, you should report those users to that site's staff. If their staff allow this behaviour, or are involved with it themselves, then you know it is a forum you should steer clear from. You'll find small sites are typically less professional and tend to involve close knit groups where the staff are more likely to let their friends get away with antisocial behaviour.

I reported all of them. I didn't see any moderators on the site and the only thing slightly stopping it were the people reporting and asking others to stop. I'll definitely never use that site again :/

That's disturbing. Surely there is a way to report those people, because people like that shouldn't be online. At the same time, I wish parents weren't so lenient with what their kids are doing online. There are weirdos out there.

Agreed. I reported all of them and others did too, but idk if they will get removed or punished because there were no mods in sight :/

Unfortunately, a mod banning people doesn't necessarily resolve the issue. Especially of those who have acted inappropriate towards children or made death threats. They could just go somewhere else and continue doing what they were doing unless the police or someone of higher authority gets involved. I don't know if there is a way for them to get involved, but if they can, then it should happen. Sometime ago I've seen a guy come out about being sexually abused by this girl when he was much younger and she's still active on Twitter. No police reports, the guy's parents probably don't know, and I just hate that people who found out about it continue living life like nothing happened.

nh definitely brought ac as a series further into the mainstream gaming scene, which in turn garnered more attention from people. the less "wholesome" individuals have most likely joined the bandwagon which led to situations like the one you've unfortunately had witnessed.

i personally tend to just stick to sites that i'm comfortable with and know is mostly good/safe to be on and rarely venture out simply because of wanting to avoid seeing things like that. :/

It’s honestly really sad that those people think that it’s okay to act that way. It’s a huge problem with people using the internet as a way to act out because they can just hide behind a screen. I don’t understand why some people feel the need to spread hatred and be inappropriate online rather than just spreading kindness.

I’m very thankful I found this forum. The people here have always been very kind and trustworthy and I feel like I can count on the mods to immediately put an end to any misbehavior.

I’m sorry you had to experience that. Hopefully you can find what you need on this forum!

Not sure why people have to be so miserable to each other online. It's never okay to threaten someone with rape even if you consider it a "joke". Hopefully these people face some sort of consequence for it but unfortunately they probably won't. Atleast this forum is a safe space for people to share ideas and discuss without worrying about people harassing them :)

the only thing i can think of to say is “ew” but that’ll get me in trouble for post quality again lmaoo,, but honestly, any site that condones “joking” or threats of any nature is one you’d be wise to stay far away from,, nobody needs to be interacting with people like that ;;

The only other place i have done transactions beyond here at was on a acnh facebook group that is for ages 25+ and it is mostly older people in the group. I haven't had a bad experience on there though I have only done a few transactions there. There are alot of mods and everyone seems to be really nice there.
