this is my fourth time rearranging my island

tbh i havent rly done anything with my island yet but i have Plans, or i did but now im having second thoughts.

ik i want to have a more naturally themed island so im planning on only using dirt paths with some stepping stone designs. i would like to use the cobblestone path but the stone is more gray when compared to the natural incline's more blue stones, and since it's the only incline i plan on using some sacrifices have to be made. i would like to place all my villagers into one giant neighborhood, but realistically while i may have a huge neighborhood, there will be little sub-neighborhoods where 2-3 villagers r kinda crowded to have walking space.

the plans i have will not be set in stone so if something is off looking i'll gladly change it again, so i imagine i'll soon also be on my 4th time rearranging my island.

pathways in particular are driving me nuts. do all of you have pathways? do all of your villagers live in one area or around your island? let me know
i have pathways leading to various areas of town, but i also left large park/garden areas without formal pathways, just grassy space. sometimes flowers grow into these informal paths but every so often i just go and do some maintenance.

all my villagers live on the north area of my island up on a hill.

here's a screenshot of my map, i got rid of a LOT of the paths you see but you can see the arrangement of the houses.

I was hesitant about pathways at first, but now I love them. "The Path" that everyone has been using is really a gamechanger, aesthetically. I have one main town area with five residents and the shops, then a more rural area with a couple residents and a mountainey wilderness area with a few residents spread around. I'm in the midst of my first major re-design & re-arranging, which will take me quite a while just to move the buildings.
