Winter Mittens
Winter Mittens
I've been playing for over two years and have never lost a villager. I have six towns and thought I was an expert at keeping my villagers. Yesterday, I was playing, and I knew it was about time for a villager to ping and say they were thinking about moving. I did what I always do, and walked in front of each villager, but none of them pinged. I walked in front of Fushia a few times and she didn't ping. I figured that meant that no one was planning on moving. I was about to save my game, when Fushia ran over and said she was thinking of moving. I thought she was going to suggest a pwp or something. I wonder why it took her so long ? Sometimes villagers won't ping right away if they are watering or planting flowers., but that wasn't the case.Anyone else have this happen ?

Sometimes it happens for me, in my experience it's usually after a different villager pings me for some other reason so I assumed the game just doesn't want to have multiple villagers trying to vie for your attention at once. When you say no villager pinged do you mean for anything at all or just moving pings?

Sometimes it takes them longer to ping, it seems to be random somehow. I just do my daily chores then my villagers ping me.
I?ve never lost a villager so far, if no one of them pings me about moving I talk to them more, until I get a rumour about who moves. If I don?t get a rumour, it?s usually safe. If I get the rumour it doesn?t mean they ping me anytime soon, sometimes I start up the game again, and the moving villager pings me within the first minute or so haha, it?s kind of weird.:)

I keep a notebook with the current date of all my towns.

I usually write down the day when someone pings to request to move out. It's usually 5 days before a new move out ping, but I know it is random.

I haven't lost a villager yet, but I have come close. I am super careful cautious about this.

After playing like this I can feel a move request ping coming...it's like sensing an approaching thunderstorm.

I have not used the newest tip that I have seen recently where you create a new alt character and walk around your town the next day to see if anyone is in boxes. I can't seem to find that guide. If anyone else knows what I am talking about please post it.

*nod* And I get so nervous when five or more days pass and no one has pinged or is spreading rumors. I tt a few hours ahead in the day to converse with everyone again, to make sure.
Many things in the game seem to be arbitrary. What Saharah gives you. When villagers request pwps or just want to know whether they are more like pretzels or chocolate. Redd's legit art...why oh why does he insist on giving me multiples? I seriously do not need 10 scenic paintings, especially when half of my art museum is empty. Thanks, Redd, thanks. Either way, it's a win-win for you, & you'll be back. & so will I.

It took ten days once to get a move out ping in my Farmtown. I thought something was seriously wrong. Lol.

You've been playing the game for 2 years and you've NEVER lost a villager?!!?

please share your secrets!

jkjk, if you think someone is moving, wait at the beach for like 5 minutes and then walk in front of your villagers to see if they will ping. That's what I do.

one of my daily chores is talking to my villagers until i get either a move-out ping, a moving rumor, or a non-moving rumor (which means nobody is thinking of moving out). i will talk to a villager until they get sick of it and say they have to blow me off for awhile. by the 3rd villager i will either get a moving rumor or one of the non-moving rumors that signifies nobody is moving (you can google this there are guides covering it). for some reason, when i get the moving rumor, the villager thinking of moving then wont ping me unless i save, quit, then re-start- then as soon as they see me they give me the moving ping.

as what other users posted, moving villagers would not ping you on your first login in the game on a new day occasionally.
