I'm really new to Animal Crossing. Thinking of starting to collect the cards. With Series 1. Is it worth it with the games to have the cards?

Thanks,

I suppose they will be useful when the update comes out if you're talking about using them with new leaf. At the moment they can only be used with happy home designer. Since I heard of the update I've bought myself a couple of packets from series 2 to start me off. Will see what the update brings as to whether I collect any more or not

I was actually thinking of going out and buying a few packs in preparation for the update as well! If anything they'll just be cute cards to have around :)

I know I am a little behind but what updates are being talked about to expect? It would be great to use the cards for NL as I got a lot when HHD came out but never had much free time from NL and other things to get to I to that one.

As far as I know you will be able to scan amiibo cards and have that villager come to your campsite so you can ask them to move in. There's also at least 5 new villagers (new to New leaf at least) coming with the update.

Thanks that's great I wonder which ones they are. Being able to scan a villager to camp would definitely get some people buying more cards, am glad I bought some from each series with HHD now even though I haven't really played it yet.

The villagers revealed so far are Ellie, Ike, Boyd, Hopkins and Vivian.im sure there will be a lot more though. I'm guessing they're going to release a whole new series with new villagers. Hoping for some brand new ones but they've got a lot of options from previous games too. I think I've picked up home designer a handful of times since I bought it so it would be nice if they somehow linked the two games with this update.
I was unsure about getting any at first but now I think it's worth buying a few packs and I'll probably buy a couple more from each series, then see what the update brings

Some players are just buying their favorite villager cards. The rest they're not interested in.
Right now there are 400 cards and the packs are blind ones. You can get a lot of repeats that can be used in a trade.

I have the whole set but if I was starting now I would just get the villagers I'm interested in
