Ok so I'm thinking of deleting my save file on New Leaf to make a new town.
I've had the same town since release day in 2013 but I've grown bored with it and haven't played for months... I loved building it and now there's not much left to do. If I restart I can always revisit the town with the Dream Suite so it's not like it's gone forever if I start again.

I think I should just do it, but I'd like to hear from anyone out there who felt like me and started again - was it worth it? Did you regret it? :lemon:

After a certain time that dream addresses haven't been updated the codes expire. So if you are really attached to your town then I would suggest keeping it. I personally would not reset my main town because I've put too much work into it.

I'm pretty sure Dreams only get deleted if they haven't been updated OR visited in a while, so I'll just keep visiting my old town now and again to keep it active.

I think that's not for a while though, since some towns last updated 2013-ish are still up on the dream database (I end up getting a lot of old Japanese towns that are kinda lame & have been abandoned when I pick the random option). Honestly, by the time the dream is deleted, ACNL will probably have its WiFi cut.

Okay. I was not aware of how long they stay up for.

Get the action replay powersaves, and backup the save, then you won't lose it, except if it's digital, in that case I'd just buy an extra copy.
