I absolutely loved my experiences on TBT when I first joined. Everyone was so nice and friendly to each other. Now, I've noticed that people are becoming less and less considerate around the site. It kind of started putting me out of the mood to play with others, but then I opened up a shop on TBT so I could connect with people and help them out. But since I was basically shut down and given no further notice, I realize that I don't really enjoy getting on here or even playing Animal Crossing. It sucks that I've made so many great friends on here, but I'm not sure if I want to stay. People on here are becoming so greedy, and I've noticed a lot of negativity around the thread. Should I even stay? Is anyone else thinking about this too?

In my opinion, taking a break from TBT is needed every now & then. As long as you have another place where you can talk with those close friends that you've made, then you'll be good.

A lot of what you are mentioning is very common to find on forums & other places where people gather on the internet, though.

I don't know you, or anything that's happened to you (such as your TBT shop being shut down) so I can't give you an opinion on that. All I can say is it gets harder to leave TBT the longer you stay. You might not be successful in leaving, but a break is just as good. c:

Sillysloth your username. <3

But I love your username :c

Breaks are good sometimes. Especially since ac is boring now and the other boards are kinda slow lately.

i'm not going to lie, i'd be sad to see you go. i enjoyed reading your posts, you have this certain kind of humor with a subtle wit i really like.

i understand your feelings towards this but i'd honestly wait until the mods come to a decision in regards to this before i made a decision on whether to leave or stay. if you feel like the negativity is too much to handle right now, take a break for some time and come back when you're ready. if you still feel like ****, leave. but don't just make a decision out of the heat of the moment. i do all the time because i act before i think and i often regret it after some time has passed and i was able to think things through.

on the topic of greed, i think it's a common plague in every forum that has a selling/buying/trading section, not just on tbt. and i think tbt is kind of tame compared to what i've seen on other ac:nl platforms.
you don't have to sell to or buy from anyone. try to filter the people that pop in requests/offers in your threads. i know it can be hard, i have a problem turning down people too, but you'll feel a lot better. you're not just a robot or a tool, you're a human being, and you deserve some breaks and decent payment for the service you provide.

I've only been here a short while but almost everyone I've interacted with has been very nice and polite. Even more so I've had some people be very generous with me.

You're probably just a little burnt out if you visit every day, have a break and come back refreshed :)

i took a break a few months ago due to not finding my charger + my grades, but ill miss you flop, and your shop. and like they said up there, i LOVE your username!

Sorry to hear... Based off of our trade today I can that you seem like a great person!

Sure there's a lot of trolls and such on any forum (Yes, including TBT) but don't let them get the best of you. Maybe just take a break? It's definitely harder to leave a site though the longer you stay on it. I was part of another animal crossing site (All is Crossing) for two and a half years until the site went down (crashed) permanently. For the last year of using the website I tried bringing myself to leave but I just couldn't force myself to.

Websites lose their appeal, and people will always come and go. If you leave then just make sure you're not leaving for the wrong reason. There's people on here who are great people, but you just have to find out who they are first! Just don't take thinks way too seriously, just like any forum.

Going to put this out there.
Just because there's some negativity, doesn't mean you should give up on something all together and cop out.
Not everything in life is sunshine and rainbows. A couple negativity posts and whatnot shouldn't draw you away from a place you met some friends.

Just like how the fortune teller tells us
"Remember that bad times are just times that are bad"

Life isn't a hugbox.

However, if you DO force yourself to play and come on here, then yeah I guess a break is necessary for you.
Don't think of this as a "negative" post either.

Hope for all the best.

Also, this will be closed by a mod most likely. ;.;
I want you to stay, but in the end, it's up to you.

Honestly, you're probably one of my favourite members. You're respectful towards others, willing to help out, etc.
Unfortunately, this forum has a lot of younger people on here, and some of these people probably weren't taught respect. They most likely are being quite selfish and trying to get the things they want, even though in the end, helping others is where you'll find the most fun and rewards. If you stay and try to lead by example, I'm sure others will turn the favor onto others as well, overall giving the community a more positive atmosphere.
(I know that me saying this is a bit hypocritical from how I've been acting lately, so sorry about that.)
Anyways, I don't think you should necessarily leave the site. You possibly just need a break or some time away. Try to play Animal Crossing for the things that you originally fell in love with it for! For me, it was the ability to talk to villagers and do whatever I want. I had no set restrictions of what I had to do each day I played, and I feel that it's like that for many people. If not, people wouldn't find working for Tom Nook in the previous games so annoying..
Good luck with your decision! I'm sure whatever happens will be best for you, because you seem smart to me.

A break might just be exactly what you need! If you look at my join date and then at my post count, you can tell that I've taken quite a few breaks :) Don't feel bad about taking one either. If you have any close friends on here, you can always chat with them without posting y'know! If you ever need anything to PM me!

Honestly if you're thinking about leaving, it's probably for the best.

I'm going to give it a chance and take it easy on the forums for while haha! Thanks for the support guys! I might have to take the occasional break just to maintain my sanity XD
