thinking glitch?

im talking to beau and after a while he says the chat text that all villagers say after you talk to them alot, something like they've got something to think about, and then they start thinking and you can't talk to them for a bit.

Beau keeps saying these cues and then doesn't start thinking? I just talk to him anyway.

Is something wrong? x - x;; ?
