Things you cant believe you have so much of in your storage!

While majority of my storage is clogged with clothes. The items that have most duplicates are materials. I've been keeping no less than 10 stacks of stones, iron nuggets, clays, weeds, and all types of wood. I like to craft stuff, especially the iron wall lamps to give to my villagers.

i’ve seen a lot of people struggle with clothes too. not sure if y’all have 2nd characters, but they basically act as storage for me. the clothes i want to keep, i just store in their house. i’d definitely recommend if you have island space. it’s not even gonna be that big of a space. like imagine a space you saved for a “diy area” but it’ll be bigger when you upgrade inside. on top of that, you’ll get 2 message bottle diy’s everyday!

is their storage just as big?

is their storage just as big?

only if you will upgrade their house 😬 but yes

and i mean, for myself i used to have an area for the DIYs on the ground. it's basically just the same size of the house. so even if you don't get all the upgrades, it was already worth it for me to be able to store more both inside the house & the storage.

Clothes take us most of my space, and then materials... and I'm at max capacity now.
I had about 10 rows of tree branches that I never, ever use, so most of those went.
I even created a second character to use just for inventory space!

So many weeds and twigs I thought I was going to use to craft with later.

Mostly seasonal materials (y. spring bamboo, cherry b. petals and summer shells) and fish/bugs. I store big fish like g. white sharks because they are too big and cant be stacked like most bugs. I always have 3 of each bug that I plan on making into a model so all them take up space. When it comes to furniture and clothing I only store things that cant be reordered.

All kinds of materials but i am especially shocked to find that i have so many stones and clay stored since i dont feel like i need them. Bugs also, i used to hoard tranatulas for Flick.

i have a lot of iron ugh,, other than that i don't use much of my storage. i have like 300/1600 and i'm fine with that

Clothes! I just can’t stop myself from buying one of every color even if it’s an item I would never wear! >.<

I recently stopped hoarding fish/bugs because honestly bells is not much of an issue now, nothing beats the stalk market. I only keep 3 of each type fish/bug to get my models from flick.

awesome to know!
tysm! this might be a solution to me nearing my inventory capacity xD

Half of my storage is clothing, if I got rid of some of it, it would be below 700...

you’re welcome. just heads up it would feel like a lot of work because you have to earn 5,000 miles again to get that house upgrade to finish that tutorial stage. so i suggest, if you have a 5 star island, to talk to isabelle to get that golden watering can. i think you’d get lots of miles for that.

I would say materials easily, since combined they take up at least half of my storage space. It's kind of a problem when you end up having over 1/16th of your storage taken up by just hardwood, lol.

Softwood and Hardwood. I mean, I have a ton of all materials, but considering I always seem to run out of Wood, I find it odd that I have A TON of the others.

I know more DIY recipes call for wood, but even when I haven't been doing a lot of DIY, I still notice way more of the other two in my storage. So weird.

Also, coconuts. I almost always have tons. I store 'em for days when Coconut Juice is worth double the price and can make A TON of bells that way. Since I can't do the Stalk Market due to time travelling, this helps make up for it!

And I feel ya there, I'm the same way 😆 BUT it comes in handy when I want a quick gift for a neighbor, since there's a good chance I have SOMETHING they'll love!

I also have a bad habit of being too lazy to go to the store and sell something, so I'll toss it in my storage instead. Now that I have a ton of items in there while I remodel my island (storing to put them back out after terraforming/moving buildings) I need to be more careful about that, since I ran out of storage space the other day... and my house is full-sized, so that means I had 1600 items in there 😛

Definitely softwood, I have about 9 stacks of the stuff. I did have a lot of bugs as well but Flick came about a week ago and I sold them all to him, only got ones I want models of now

I also have so many fossils, and shells.

I have 70 stacks of weeds. I also had nine of the same pair of shorts. Don't know why.

Now, I don't have a fully built house, but with what I do have, it's all mostly clothes. I've actually littered my place with items to make more room for clothing. I loved dress up games as a kid and I see things haven't changed.
