So, it's currently 11 PM and I'm bored. However, since all the shops are closed and I refuse to TT in this town, I'm kinda out of ideas. I've already farmed bugs today, so I'd rather not have to do that again.
Any suggestions? What do you do at a time like this in-game?

Head to the island and fish up sharks. Those fiesty little fish are big money-makers, and quite frankly, I'm obsessed with them. Just look for fins that are sticking out of the water, a shark is likely to be there. What I do is purposefully scare away the non-shark shadows in order to try and spawn in those little swimming Bell bags. Silver rod might work best if you're using the beach in your town, but seeing as how Lloid doesn't offer the "fancy" stuff you won't be able to do that with the island. But still, sharks appear more often on the island than in town, so I'd recommend taking the boat there to fish.

Ah, forgot adding that I do look for sharks as well when I go catch me some bugs.
Scaring off the non-shark fishies sounds like a genius idea though!
Been trying to finish my fish encyclopedia today, however, that damn oarfish never shows up.

I usually talk to my villagers until I annoy them. A lot of them are still up at this time. Especially if you have a lot of cranky/snooty/uchi.

You can go haunt Club Tortimer. There's really not much to do at night. To catch the oarfish, try save and continuing every time you get to the end of your beach and it's not there. It gets a little old, but it resets all the fish and bug spawns in the game.

Also swarming with snooties has got to be about the cutest phrase I've ever heard.

I often do a lot of my landscape planning in the evening hours, late at night. It's just a relaxing and gives me something to do. Afterwards I'll just do some fishing and bug hunting in town and talk to my cranky villagers until I get bored of playing or tired.

Oh lord, I only just bothered earning enough medals to get the club tortimer membership earlier today, and have yet to experience the horror. I'll try doing the save and continue trick, thanks for that, I've caught waaay too many horse mackerels so far.
Thank you hahaha, I love your profile pic.

That sounds like a nice idea too tbh, it's just soooo overwhelming to do landscape planning if you've recently reset your game lol.

It's a shame you don't want to catch bugs, as the giantle beetle and scarab come out at 11.00 PM, adding more variety, plus the giant beetles are worth 10k!

Hold up, scarab? I can't believe I've had this game for four years and still am absolutely clueless about bug times lol.

Update: Both beetles are only available from around june to august, sadly.

Thank you. I too love my profile pic lmao.

I also do island tours at night if I'm getting low on medals. Landscaping as mentioned above. Just toying with ideas and the whatnot. I also design things sometimes, since there's nothing else going on and take it to Ables' when it opens again to turn into a pro design. Shake trees for your two pieces of furniture. You can avoid bees by opening the gate or inviting Isabelle out with you on a pretend PWP project hunt. I do a lot of clearing out of storage items at night.

On the island, they are always there from 11.00 PM to 8.00 AM.

The island is set in June. ^_^

I think all of the landscaping I've done in my town has been at night. I find it more relaxing and a better way to wind down the day. I also like to go to Club Tortimer in hopes of finding some nice people (even tho im socially awkward) or some rare items. I also like to fish, catch bugs, complete initiatives if i haven't already, talk to my villagers, visit a friend's town, etc etc. I love night time in ACNL.

Where did you get the specific time info?

Giant Beetles in WW came out at 11.00 PM, and I double checked, triple checked several sources. ^_^

It's basicically just summer.
June, July, August.

I say June, because it's the start of summer.

They actually start coming out on the Island around 7PM, since I've been there and I've caught many of the beetles, although they are slightly less common.

Giant beetles do not come out until 11.00 PM.

They are found on the fruit or regular trees in the center of the island, if you haven't chopped them down.

You know what I used to do in my old town where everything was all pretty much done and if I were fortunate enough to have done everything that needed doing? I'd save and quit and watch my villagers... I'd watch them walking around and appreciate how pretty it looked or sometimes I'd get ideas on how to do things differently and maybe switch some things around that I never would have thought of... it's a different angle and gives a new perspective and I swear, they'll kind of give you hints if you watch close enough. I can't really do that right now because everything is still so up in the air but I remember how much I enjoyed it and am looking forward to doing it again eventually.
