Okay so I know it's likely we won't hear anything about the new game until at least January, but hear me out...
So right now Pocket Camp is celebrating its 1 year anniversary which will be on the 21st. One week later (the 28th), an update is planned which will no longer run on older devices with less than 1.5GB of ram. We are currently on version 1.9 meaning this update is probably the big 2.0 update. There will likely be new features added in this update which would be perfect to demonstrate in a direct alongside the switch game, especially considering they said Pocket Camp would connect to a mainline game...
Also take into account the fact that the rumour of 2 directs this month originated from the same source that said there would be a smash direct on November 1st, so it's definitely possible we are getting another direct this month (though it may not be related to Animal Crossing at all).
Something else that caught my attention in regards to the pocket camp update was data miners finding a bunch of data strings for 'path' items presumably coming with the update which could be related to the big request from the community to have paths in Animal Crossing switch. Perhaps paths could be added to Pocket Camp after an AC Switch direct as part of promotion for the new feature?
My final point is that the last two AC directs were Tuesday October 24th, 2017 and Wednesday November 2, 2016 (almost a year apart), and if that pattern were to continue there would be a direct any time now.
To conclude, I know this is all just conspiracy but I do believe it is possible we could be getting an Animal Crossing direct before the 28th of this month. I'd love to hear your thoughts and own theories.
