Themed islands and villagers; Does matching matter?

My island is pink and pastel-themed and not all of my villagers and their homes match my theme. I don't think I'm that concerned with taking the theme to that level. I'd rather have a bit of a mix in places. I'd say 70% of my island is themed, and that a portion of my villagers and their homes fall into that category.

I don't think the villagers have to match.. and in many cases, you can make them fit with clothes.

I was considering matching my villagers to my town but there's not many space or cottagecore themed villagers I like D: Though, I do have a few.

I explore a lot of horror islands (and would like to check yours out sometime if you would let me) and have seen it both ways. Personally I don’t think it matters too much what villagers you have especially if you like them. Sometimes having a bright pink house doesn’t always end well with a dark them but as far as villagers you should not have ones if they don’t make you happy, plus you can give them dark clothes and stuff to match theme, I saw an island where a lot of the villagers had ghost umbrellas and thought it was really cool

i would be very picky ab it, yes. ik this thread is old lol. if i went to a pastel island and saw a bunch of dark colored animals like vivian or rodeo then i would be very displeased lol
