Has anyone else completed the theme challenge, and what was your takeaway from the experience?

I found the whole thing to be mostly frustrating. I chose the antique theme because my house was filled with stuff that looked antique. It was only then that I realized how mixed my decorating style actually is. A few days later the area surrounding my house was littered with furniture like I was being evicted, as I scrambled to poach theme-appropriate furnishings from the houses and storage rooms of my other characters and haul them over. Basically I had to make a huge mess that took hours and hours, and the end result -- the room that finally allowed me to reach the top goal, looked like a crazy hoarder lived there and made no sense at all in terms of styles - a mishmash of golden, Roccoco, and Regal items as well as various knicknacks that fit that category... it was ugly.

It was a lot of work and not much fun. I guess I sort of knew it would be which is why I procrastinated doing it until now, where I am running out of things to accomplish in the game.

Anyhow, just wondering what other people's experiences were like.

I'm currently doing the theme challenge, I picked Trendy, and honestly I'm not finding it to be a huge problem. Most of the sets I really love and want to collect are in the trendy category and I'm just trying to be on the lookout for misc. trendy stuff. Even though I have no problem with it I'm still excited once I complete it so I have more creative freedom and I can finally make a few rooms I've been waiting a while to make, like a weapon/hospital room and a Splatoon room cause I'm trash.

It was a pain, but I was happy to have completed it. It gave me something to work towards for a while and it was fun. I picked fairytale since I had a lot of fairytale items anyway. I also had a pretty full catalogue so it was just a matter of ordering everything :)
