...I've completely misplaced my copy of AC:NL. :'( I just purchased a digital copy on the Nintendo Store, but it really sucks to have to start all over again. On my old copy, I had all of my dream villagers, a completed house with all of the rooms, a nearly complete catalog, and 10 million bells. Now I've got next to nothing. I guess it's sort of humbling, but it's still a bummer. Has this ever happened to anyone else? And if so, how did you manage to pick up where you left off?

Oh no!! So sorry! That's heartbreaking. The closest I came was thinking my cartridge had been lost on a subway commute, but it turned up again a day later. I didn't get to the point of trying to figure out what I'd do next, since I was utterly shellshocked.
It won't feel the same as your old town, but perhaps some folks would be willing to help by letting you catalogue some stuff, give you a basic care package of all the fruits and bamboo shoots, some bells to start off, etc. I'm about to turn into a pumpkin for about 18 hours, but if I can help tomorrow with some basics, PM me.

I've not yet misplaced any of my ACNL cartridges -knocks on wood- but I've had issues where I needed to restart from scratch before q-q. PM me if there's anything you need; I can definitely grab you one of each of the fruits, some bells, and some hybrids. I'm not too keen on the whole cataloGUE EVERYTHING, so I can't get you any reorderable sets, but I can keep an eye out for some of you dreamies in my cycling town <:

The same thing happened to me with my first cartridge, but you know what? After a year of thinking it had just vanished, I found it! So don't give up forever, you never know if you'll find it or not! I even ended up finding my cartridge in a place I had checked a million times and my boyfriend ended up finding it.
I hope you find it in the future! I know how much it sucks to have to start from scratch and still try to be excited about the game.
