The worst has happened

So... My game got corrupted a few weeks ago, though of course I don't realize until today when I played it again . It's still "playable" but nothing saves even though it says it does. So like even though the game says it's today, it acts like I haven't don't anything for the past few weeks. To add to my sad story it must've happened on my birthday because none of the stuff I got that day was there.

I don't even know why it would've done that because I take good care of my games and I don't think I've ever quit out of it while it's saving.

I kind of wanna restart, but at the same time I'm worried that whatever new town I make will just corrupt again. Anyway just wanted to get that out.

Wouldn't it be possible to make a save of your town, and, later on, put that same save on a physical cartridge? If it is, it would be the perfect solution!

Oh that has happened to me before with a different game, I'm not sure why that happens but I searched on the interent and an anonymous said that when the screen pops up saying that it has been corrupted to just hold the power button and turn it off right away then turn it back on and it should be fine, if not maybe there's something like dust or dirt clogging it to be malfunctioned? Or it might be the way it was inserted in the 3DS? I hoped that helps, I haven't tried this method but if it happens again I'll give it a gooo
