Have you ever put some designs you like in the able sisters display to have them saved for a later date so you could work on paths and other designs? (long sentence, I know) Then you probably also know what it feels like to have an animal wear one of those and infect the entire town with the shirt. Avery took one of my designs, now 2 other villagers have it. Not only that, sometimes they pick up the default ones, which don't look too flattering. Has this ever happened in your town before? And with what design? I got one once that was of a ugly prototype pathway I made. All of my villagers looked like they were trying to camouflage with a coloring book.

I actually managed to make a "Virus" spread through my town. It was a cough, though.

I changed all my villager's catchphrase to "Cough" and it spread like wildfire. Soon enough, everyone in my town had the catchphrase "Cough".

I did get a "virus". One of my villager, Al, gave a copy of his shirt to another villager, Francine. At this point, the both of them were wearing it. A few days later, I received a letter in my mail with a gift from Francine... It was that exact same shirt. I ran to Re-Tail to sell it. Finally, a week after, I came across Hamlet, another villager, who was ALSO wearing this stupid shirt... I don't know what happened, but it was kinda annoying since the shirt is really ugly, haha.

That's hilarious. It doesn't happen to me most of the time, but it's usually with just nicknames and catchphrases.

Flurry is wearing one in my town. :/ Just change every single shirt at the Able Sisters for random umbrellas. This way, your villagers won't change their shirt for these ugly ones.

i had half my town wearing the fishing vest and the pther half wearing the genie shirt at one point. it was Nightmare Hell and i spammed them with shirts in an attempt to make them changhe clothes. now no one is wearing those shirts, and if i ever see one wearing one again i'll probably just kill them because im Done

Samson started wearing a danger shirt one day, then all of a sudden, half of my village ended up wearing it too. Even after he took his off, weeks later, they insisted on keeping theirs on... I spent a lot of time sending them new clothes in the mail, and was infuriated every time I saw the shirts in their house instead of being worn... -.-. It all worked out eventually, though.

I've never tried that!! Although if you want to save paths and stuff for later, you could just try saving them as QR codes if you have the sewing machine unlocked.

I learned the hard way because that happened to me too with a stupid sign i made XD now i put all designs as a hat, because villagers won't buy it\wear it. But there was once like 5 villagers who all had the same catchphrase. I really don't like that villagers can "copy" each others shirts and catchphraces

In my old town, Kidd had infected everyone with mummy shirts and Kabuki's default catchphrase... So basically, my villagers became an army of cat mummies under Kidd's command. lol

They all wore the Anytown shirt for a long time. You can report them to Isabelle and they change into a gym tee.
Switching the design to a Hat or umbrella helps.

A bunch of my town is wearing Fuchsia's shirt and she's not even wearing it. Way to be unoriginal, Fuchsia! >.<

I also have trouble with this, Sprinkle asked to buy an item off me on my way to re-tail without thinking i said yes, shes been infecting everyone with the dreaded leopard tank ever since, i mail her new clothes everyday.... but still no luck

Almost all the villagers in my first town is wearing a Beardo shirt that I made for a Beardo memorial. See Apple:

Oh yeah. Mostly with catchphrases, but shirts too. Eventually I designed a tank top in 8 different colors, put in in Ables sisters and now my villagers are all wearing them - it's a cute collared tank top with ombr? colors.
