The villagers talking about something or someone coming

I looked pretty far back for a discussion on this, but couldn't find one. I thought there was.

Anyway, I think everyone will notice that today the villagers are all saying that the something or someone is coming tomorrow (US time).

This is either disappointing or confusing because the first fishing tourney takes place tomorrow. Some of us speculated that was all this was, but do the villagers really not mention it by name? Do they really just speak in vague references to an event/someone coming instead? That doesn't add up with how much they specifically talk about Bunny Day, to the point of being annoying. There should definitely be specific dialogue for fishing tourneys. But I doubt there'd be two events or such taking place in one day, so that seems to be what this is.

Yeah, that's what I said, but it's a bit disappointing. Why act like it's such a mystery? The villagers should have dialogue for the fishing tourney. =/

Same thing here and I'm not in the US. One thing I noticed is that K.K. is in town for me despite it not being Saturday. I guess it got moved up because of the fishing tournament, but I'm curious to see if anything does happen today. I don't think the villagers would be programmed to speak about the wrong day if the bulletin board had it correctly? But the vagueness really implies nothing too fancy, it fits the first fishing tournament.

is it not about bunny day or something? i thought it was, and i now that it's fishing tourney, shouldn't they mention it instead? because if it's bunny day, no one literally is really excited for that.
punchy won't stop talking about this and i'm like hunny it's your birthday tomorrow focus on that.

i think they mention it all vaguely because its the first time a proper event is happening on an ex-deserted island yknow. so obv theyd dont know all the deets

ok that's cute and it makes sense... but anything for NEW conversation, or anything normal really. they sound extra-computer-ish with all these egg talk for 8 straight days

maybe they dont read after all... the villagers dont know that a bird on the bulletin board means theres something new

Like other said, I think it's just referring to the fishing tournament. For anyone who hasn't TTed, the fishing tournament has never happened before. The villagers probably just don't know what's going on. I suspect for any future fishing tournaments they will refer to it as what it is.

My villagers didn't specify a day nor a date just that something was coming. Hense the speculation regarding bunny day.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's referencing the fishing tournament. Mine were talking about something mysterious happening "soon" but today they started talking about the thing being tomorrow. Too much of a coincidence to not be the fishing tourney, although I agree the dialogue is a little strange considering 1. CJ has been to the island multiple times and 2. The fishing tourney details are right there on the bulletin board.

I just wish they would just refer it to as it is because the bulletin board is literally out there to see and everyone should know about it by now rather than make it ominous and mysterious.

i was SO strongly hoping it was something they snuck in about the earth day event at the end of the month because of how mysterious it was! but then today they started adding "tomorrow" to their mysterious dialogues so i was like "oh nvm it's just stupid fishing tourney"

My villagers are now saying this today too. So the "something big" is the fishing tourney.

I'm guessing this is just their generic dialogue when an event is approaching, like the fishing tourney or bug-off

guys, kk is on your island today because the fishing tourney needs to use the plaza and kk can't be on it at the same time lol. i'm guessing this is gonna happen every time an event that uses the plaza is held on a saturday. but yeah it's really confusing how the villagers act super vague like they don't know what's going on when there's literally a note on the bulletin board saying the fishing tourney is coming up :/ then again, i DID tell punchy today that my favorite hobby is reading books and he told me that sounds awesome and that he's never tried it before... maybe nobody in this town can read
